Aimpoint or Eotech, what does /k/ like more?
    >> Legal MumboJumbo !LMJ/EnhfVA 09/11/10(Sat)00:16 No.7217900
    I like both.

I prefer Eotech for the 1 MOA dot, as well as the price.

While I enjoy the CONCEPT of the Eotech, I have Astigmatism, so the reticle looks distorted. Because of that I went with the Aimpoint CompM2. I love the Aimpoint, but if I was doing it over, I would go with the T-1. Lightweight and long battery life.

Elcans are again, great concept, but WAY too heavy.

I love both. Personally if I have to only pick one for close/(Maybe) medum range) I would go with EOTech. I mean, you have two advantages using a holographic as apposed to looking into a tube. You have much greater FOV because you can use both your eyes while aiming down the sight. (As your picture clearly demonstrates, even though that guy looks like he's about to rape a child.) Second, the holographic picture is only visible on the user's side of the primary optic, so therefore from the business end, the enemy/purp etc will not be able to locate you in the dark, as apposed to reflex sights. (Say for example.. in the worst case scenario you are protecting yourself from a home invader(s)).

EOTECH, THE OFFICIAL COOL GUY OPTIC OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY.

    SERIOUSLY.
    >> Anonymous 09/11/10(Sat)01:40 No.7218430
Having shot with both, I definitely prefer (and ended up purchasing) the EOTech.

EOTech gives you a nice open view of the target and has a better reticule (1 MOA dot for accuracy with 65 MOA circle for quick target acquisition). Aimpoint has a single 2-4 MOA dot. If you don't care about NVG support, the EOTech 512 is much less expensive.

Some people prefer the Aimpoint's knob to the EOTech's buttons, but I thought they were both equally easy to operate. The Aimpoint can run like 10000 hours vs. the EOTech's 1000 hours, but really, are you use the shit out of it to the degree that you can't pop in a couple of fresh AAs every 1000 hours?.

Pros and cons to both, I prefer the EOTech reticle better though

    >> SIGfag !!4e1sqEBgEJ+ 09/11/10(Sat)09:50 No.7220035
EOTechs explode upon contact with anything rigid and use shitty Chinese-sourced glass for the lenses.

    Aimpoint is infinitely better.
    >> SIGfag !!4e1sqEBgEJ+ 09/11/10(Sat)09:52 No.7220042
    >>7217910

Elcans use a complex external adjustment mechanism which fails with a disturbing frequency. Great glass though..
    >> Anonymous 09/11/10(Sat)09:54 No.7220050
iron sights are superior. if you do not have magnification, I will go with the irons every time.
