regular 6,5x55 in a Krag makes it go kB!, so there is definitely a
difference. The old military ammo, both Swedish and Norwegian, was very
similar, but nowadays as Krags are pretty much obsolete, since 6,5mm now
is intended for modern hunting rifles. Sakos, Tikkas or Remingtons, for
example.
Think about it. Mausers have three lugs (2+1) and have a
very strong receiver milled out of solid and tough steel. They can take
a lot before breaking, and then they only bend, instead of
cracking/splitting like a Mosin Nagant or Krag would. Krags are much
structurally weaker.
Let's not turn this into a 6,5mm debate,
though, as I personally cannot stand the round and don't really care for
it more than what I have to if I'm to go into DFS sometime. |
