I was going to buy a whole bunch of MREs but I'm leaving for the Army in a little over two months and I heard I can take boxes of MREs without much care.

Don't really have much now. I have access to free canned drinking water, should I stockpile those while I can? It's just like a soda can but it's drinking water.

    >About 7 days worth of beef jerky/MRE's if rationed correctly.
    >A first aid kid with gauze, bandages, tape, a suture kit, some anti diarrheal pills, aspirin, ibuprofen, and multivitamins.

For a short term evac situation it would suffice. All of my other prep supplies are hidden in a 'safe room' I made out of a small storage closet with a false door which I could hopefully get back to and access.

But seriously, nice job. I'd ditch the ramen noodles though, they don't seem to provide enough nutrients and are a waste of water in my opinion.

    canned meat
    Potato flakes
    multi-vitamins
    fiberous foods of all types

As far as SHTF gun, a survival .22 is best.

rabbit has no protein, in a BOB situation you won't have time to hunt.

rabbit has a shitton of protein, it has no fat is what you mean.

that's why I said eat the brain, the brain is the only fatty tissue on the damn creature. plus its pretty tasty.

This thread.... the horror... the horror...

    >you can live off of wild onions in my area
tasty, but about zero calories, you can't live off wild onions
    >I'd ditch the ramen noodles though, they don't seem to provide enough nutrients and are a waste of water in my opinion.
In the short term, calories are much more important than nutrients. Ramen provides calories cheaply and store well, you can get protein and vitamins elsewhere. Ramen can also be eaten dry, water is not an issue.
    >Scurvy isn't really a big problem for caucasian people to begin with
Facepalm. Limeys didn't pick up that nickname for culinary reasons.

People ITT need to get serious, this is embarrassing.
