You are now the CEO of Activision, and have full control of the Call of Duty series. You can do anything (except cancel) the series, and have to make at least two more games before 2013.

Manifest your rage for this shit series. Wat do

Make game which is only co-op storyline. This will include its multiplayer; every match is a step further in the storyline. Have bullet physics as close to IRL as possible, +1 in the chamber, guns are relatives to Bob Marley, penetration stats, no 'stopping power'.
    Make GRAFICS a DLC
Game 1 is sequel to Game 2 which is prequel to Game 1.

    do a WWI game
    realistic too
fuckin bayonet charges against nearly impassable machine gun infested trenches
brutal trench fighting with realistic weapons that take time to reload. lots of hand to hand w/ realistic "health" (1 bullet on the torso kills you, bullet in limb imobilizes that limb, etc)
    second game
exploit the zombies thing from black ops/world at war
do a whole game for just the zombie mode
do some different types of zombie mode in addition to the regular hoard mode
do an infection mode and shit like that
make a bunch of comical characters - fuckin Reagan, TDR, Abe Lincoln, Ulysses S Grant, George W Bush, Rambo, Clint Eastwood, various operators we'd like to see in a game

    1.make a hollywood movie.
2.make a game based on said movie
3.don't innovate just remake the older call of duties.
4.hire actors to promote the game
5.you must pay a monthly fee to play online.
6.the really good weapons are a pay per use; if you wanna use the best assault rifle then you gotta buy it with cash/points. Refer 7. for massive capitalist pig mode.
7.weapons have a durability rating. over time your weapon will jam or won't be as accurate as before. the only way to get around this is to buy another DLC code for that weapon.
8.attachments and upgrades require money too.
9.perks degrade and revert to lvl1 effectiveness if you don't play for a long time. Crack mode right here.

I make bobby kotick look like mother theresa.

I would update engines, and do a more traditional COD series story of Vietnam. None of this "one guy is the hero of fucking everything bullshit". More like COD 1/2 where you had guys on your side and your objectives were... normal. MAybe even do a Big Red One sort of thing and have a single squad you sort of get really attached to.

Weapons won't have gimmicky shit, only period specific additions. Scopes mounted on carry handles on M16's, silencers for Hush Puppies and Swedish K's and MAC 10's, ect.

My next release would be the same deal, but like Somolia or something. Maybe follow a couple countries through those strange conflicts of the 70's and 80's.

A CoD thread complaining about misrepresentation of guns, war, or soldiers? Annoying but okay.

A CoD thread complaining about CoD fans infesting this board? Also annoying but okay.

Make certain weapons unique to different factions.

For example, if you're playing as the Americans you can't start with a RPK or AK. You start with gear that would actually get issued to your unit. Using perks lowers your health. Not every guy can mount every optic or dodad known to man.

Other than that I wouldn't change anything. Fight the russians more, and then fight space chimps.

fight in 'murrica during second civil war, the 99% vs the 1%.
the 99%'s team gets guns you'd expect poor hipsters to have, (nuggets, makarovs, cz's) pretty much just poorfag slavcrap.
the 1% has what people with money afford, in other words, anzio, DD's, cheytac, guns chambered in .338 lapua and other stuff that nobody affords but them.
singleplayer focuses on two campaigns, the 1%, who has to hold the 99% off their golf courts, and the 99%, who must raid the golf courts and renovate the land into jamba juices and starbucks.
multiplayer has 2 fronts, the slums of williamsburg brooklyn, and more 'richer' areas, like hollywood.

You know nothing about the Great War.

To be brutally honest the average engagement in the Great War was the closest thing to a hollywood action movie in the history of modern warfare.

A normal engagement today is sitting on a hillside 700 yards away throwing potshots at general areas in the distance, never actually seeing the enemy, and possibly calling in a munitions strike before RTBing.

Yeah that game. That is the game I want to play. The possibilities there are for how much story could be written are endless. Force you to spend time with those mindless AI-drones so you actually bond with them.

Besides, most modern FPS includes "fade to black" screens even when in a modern setting, so yeah you could just let the player be part of some moving battalion that always gets sent first in line for an attack (no matter how unrealistic that sounds).

Mustard gas goes right through everything. The only good a gas mask would do would keep it out of your lungs, but the rest of you would be cooked.
Mustard gas rarely killed anyone, it was mainly used to just deny the enemy of a field to charge through.

    That implies there was food.

The first thing that the Russians did when they saw the German army was to take every last little bit of food out. And the Luftwaffe couldn't send enough supplies and what was sent was half the time compeltly useless.

That's why they had to eat their horses.

    1. Average Cod game... Chinese or Russians or someone invades the USA.. again. Multiple military characters including some spec ops go on exotic unrealistic downright silly missions to do things that would have a lot more support in reality.

    2. Second game. Same scenario, same story, except this time the player plays from the perspective of various civilians during the evacuations. A few missions without any weapons, a few stealth missions, perhaps a few sabatur missions. Main character who has fighting missions starts as a boy scout camp counselor and first mission is to get his scouts to the evacuation point (even the fat kid, there is always one). Perhaps another mission where one plays as a police officer during the initial invasion of a small town that didn't get government troops to defend it.

how about, you live on a coastal town, where you and your partner have to defend your towns small, run down harbor from getting over run by light landing craft with only your sidearm and your squad car's rifle/shotgun.

Exactly and they would add some "humanity" to the testosterone stained DVDs of COD. I mean sure its fun to play an unmitigated badass for a while... but every once in a while it would be good to skip in a few missions where I give a shit about the characters. Like one where you play a mother trying to get her daughter to the evacuation zone (I envision this as the intro level. Sneak around enemy soldiers, hide, part way through you finally get a gun and have to shoot some enemies in the back holding the gun in shaking hands, then get rescued by soldiers.

Follow that level with the campaign with the scout counselor trying to get his scouts out and fighting his way through the woods.

Finish with a campaign with the Police officers where you finally have a player who wants to engage the enemy, but is outgunned. Also have the officer's reload rate etc... be significantly slower with the enemy's weapons. It takes time to get acquainted to weapons you haven't trained with.

Call of Duty: World at War 2

    About WWI.

I would make it a gritty, depressing as fuck game where the last remaining character, US 148th Infantry, at the end one week before the armistice is declared.

80% of the game will be dying from your own artillery, 5% melee fights with Germans trying to advance, 5% melee fights trying to take German trenches, 10% gas attacks.

One campaign you're the Canadian's 1st Division and die outright in a gas attack at the end of that chapter because you weren't equipped with gas masks.

Anyhow. Did you know there was a British guy making a movie taking place in the first world war, who made the movie during the first world war, and the movie was shot in the trenches during the Battle of Somme. I don't know all the details, but he was one crazy fuck.

Here is the story whenever you like it or not.

I'm Danish. My great-grandfather fought in the First World War at the Battle of Verdun and other places. My great-grandfather fought in the German army.

The southern part of Jutland was lost in the war of Slesvig-Holsten in 1864, my great-grandfather used to live there with his family. They were Danish, and remained Danes at heart and didn't welcome their New Prussian overlords.
World War 1 rolled around and since they technically were German citizens, my great-grandfather was conscripted into the army and he was by far not the only one. There is in Brenen (I don't know if I spelled it correctly), a grave yard for Danish soldiers who died during the First World War, I've been there, though I was unaffected - my mother recognised a lot of the family names and she realised how many of her childhood friends had lost granduncles in the war, in fact she was in tears by the time we returned to the car.

I've promised myself that I will go to that grave yard on the 11th of November 2018 and lay a flower wreath, even if I am the last person on the world to remember them, they shall remain unforgotten.

This is the reason that the first world war fascinates me.
    >> Anonymous 12/06/11(Tue)21:19 No.10248495
    >>10248482

Slightly unrelated notes: The part of Jutland he lived in became Danish again in 1920, he survived the war. And I grew up in Copenhagen.

I'm unsure what I want the wreath to say:
    >"Stadig husket - ej forglemt" (Still remembered - not forgotten)
    or
    >"Ikke husket - ej forglemt" (Unremembered - not forgotten)

Dane eh? my mothers family was from Veijle (did I spell that right?). In WW-II my maternal Grandfather was forced into working as a welder at the local airfield for the Germans. His Brother was a police officer imprisoned by the Germans, then he somehow escaped (he never talked about *how*, but my guess is he volunteered to point out communists) and then joined the Danish Resistance.

One of my Mothers earliest memories was the "uncle" appearing unannounced in their apartment in Veijle, and suddenly hearing a bunch of men running up the stairs after him. The uncle jumped straight out of a second story window to the street below and beat feet.

The number of German prisoner escapes during the war was only marginal. The number of SS even less. The number of SS escaped in american and or british uniforms by possibly killing someone did not happen.

No, I'm pretty sure my grandfather really did escape from PoW camps, I found a few articles online stating he was captured twice, but nothing of his demise or prison sentences, He was also alive when I was a kid

    Call of Duty: Counterinsurgency

It's the most realistic version of CoD yet, and the first one to be branded a "war simulator." It pretty much consists of patrolling for hours on end in a miserable Middle-Eastern sandbox with no apparent goal. Hadjis abound, but if you shoot any you fail the mission - UNLESS you immediately plant some weapons on the dead "insurgents." You must get through around 40 hours of gameplay before you actually get to see action, and even then it's just a Hadji transitional army soldier stepping on an IED who you then have to call CASEVAC for - and if you forget your nine-lines, you fail the mission. After another sixty hours, you finally come under enemy fire, but it's just Juba shooting you in the head, ending the campaign.

Multiplayer mode is basically the same thing in split-screen, only you get to choose whether you play as Coalition or Civilian.
