>>8796548typeface?Nigga , watch out how you speak, or else it could be that me and my buddys have to visit you for a "talk"
𝐒𝐲𝐥𝐟𝐚𝐞𝐧
>>8796551How wacky and controversial!I WILL FUCKING HUNT YOU DOWN AND END YOU, YOU PIECE OF SHIT.
>>8796556Whenever you say "font", you run the risk of some autist who hates change running in and pointing out that he knows FONT MEANS THINGS LIKE ``8 PT TIMES NEW ROMAN'' YOU MEAN TYPEFACE YOU IDIOT!!!
>>8796568Damn hipsters. Probably didn't even use FontForge--I bet this shit was made using some Adobe bollocks on their MacBook Pros.
Arial.
>>8796583maybe they used ubuntu
>>8796568That 'f' is really out-of-place and distracting
Futura is the best.
Is there a good way to learn about the most basic typefaces and their best uses? That flowchart thing that gets posted sometimes is just confusing as hell.Guides to scanlation typefaces and Japanese typefaces would be nice too. For the former, I only know about Anime Ace and CC Wild Words, and I have absolutely no idea what's a safe choice when I need to type Japanese in Photoshop or I get the option to change font in eroge.
Calibriits the default on msword so I use that
Arial is everything Helvetica tries to be, but better. There's no better font.
Ms-Mincho
>>8796674Impact should only be used on propaganda posters.
>>8796659MS PGothic, please.
I'm a big fan of Myriad, despite it being overused. (Although not as bad as Helvetica) Second place going to Akzidenz-Grotesk.I like fonts with a lot of weight options.
What's the most MOE font?
My favorite typeface is any one that is nobody else's favorite, as I don't want to be associated with other people who share a favorite people, because they are generally disagreeable people, because people are generally disagreeable. When someone else likes my typeface, I stop liking it. It's not that it suddenly becomes wrong to like that typeface - it's that it was wrong from the beginning, as it had the potential of being the favorite of a disagreeable person. I was incorrect to like it.
>>8796793THESEhttp://s2g.jp/font/index.htm>>8796644Just use Anime Ace for everything. Anything else is distracting.Also,http://www.insidescanlation.com/etc/Censored-Vaginas-Quick-Manga-Editing-Guide/manga_guide/
>>8796804I like this post ironically.
>>8796804I want to stalk you and start liking everything you like until there's nothing left for you to like.
Mona
>>8796873What a weeaboo.
>>8796625 Of course, totally agree. Futura is da best
I like Helvetica Neue. It's versatile and you don't have to put much effort into something to make it look nice if you use it. I particularly like all the weight variants––it's an easy way to toss in some variation in a text without having to worry about shit looking good together.
I always liked Georgia. Fixed-width fonts are superior.
>>8797389Georgia is proportional.
>>8797404Didn't look like that to me. I always considered it a `better' Courier New.
>>8797389Of the serif fonts, I prefer Century Schoolbook.
Barricades.Because I was 15 the last time I recognised any favourite font.
My favorite ``book" font is Calluna:http://www.exljbris.com/calluna.htmlThe web page doesn't do it justice. The specimen shows how beautiful it is:http://www.exljbris.com/pdf/Calluna_specimen.pdfIt works great both as a print and as a display font. I hope people start using it for novels and so on.
>>8797634That IS a pretty nice font./jp/, what are your favorite fixed-width fonts?ProFont here.
>>8797658Terminus or Proggy.I also recently discovered Tamsyn and it's growing on me:http://www.fial.com/~scott/tamsyn-font/
hgp mincho b because it was in my japanese animes
>>8797658I like the Droid font. Really clean and readable in the terminal.
>>8797681I like these too. Unfortunately the only Slackware GNU/Linux package I could find didn't have an italic/oblique version of Droid Sans. I'm not even sure if Ascender made one.
>>8797709You don't need packages in Slackware. Just make your own. It's pretty simple. Use a build prefix like "~/packages/build" and chown the folder to root. Then use the "makepkg" script provided with pkgtools. You should know how to install fonts manually if you're using a distro like Slackware anyway.
Antiqua
Gill Sans MT and Consolas, I believe.
Arial
>>8797713I know, but configuring fonts (particularly in X) can be annoying and I hate having to write font configuration files myself. I like using SlackBuilds since updating is a lot easier, even if it's unlikely the fonts will ever be updated.I did actually check for an italic version a while ago and considered making my own SlackBuild for users if it existed. However to my knowledge, it doesn't.
>>8797722Why would you need to write a font configuration file? Just put the font in its proper folder and X should detect it automatically at startup. The packages just automate the process because some people don't know where the folders are.... just a google search or man page away, though.
>>8797733To alias Droid Serif as my preferred serif font, for instance. If you don't know how fontconfig works, check the files in /etc/fonts/conf.d (though they are usually symlinks to files in /etc/fonts/conf.avail).
>>8797658Courrier newIs there something wrong with that /jp/?
Sazanami Gothic
>>8797751I posted a troll image with that font earlier.I was expecting someone to point it out.
