What's with all the shit posts killing the last thread?
Anyway I'm posting the meetup details on Furude.net now in case anyone missed it. And is anyone going to the one at the Ryutsu Center tomorrow?

Hmmm undecided if I actually want to go to comiket this year or not. 4hour train ride plus hotel for a few nights might be more then its worth when I don't have much in mind to buy. Never been before though, is the atmosphere worth it?

I also heard that many shops are closed jan 1st, 2nd and 3rd in tokyo for the new years, so it woudl be shitty to stick around for a bit after.

But it is up to you if you want to go queue up in the early morning.

I'm going to check out the Ryutsu convention tomorrow, since I've never been. Don't really know what to expect though. Luckily, I just moved hotels from a hotel in Akiba to one in Shiodome area, which is right on top of both the yurikamome and the tokyo monorail.

    >>8298628
During shogatsu is when everything is on sale like crazy. You can get alot of random shit from the fukubukurou that come on sale at this time. I expect most of my second luggage is going to just be from the shit I buy during these sales, but I was mainly going for clothes.

Shinjuku is fine too, I believe. I tend to shop around as it is, since the sales last like a whole week almost.

Nakano broadway is a piece of crap, I dont know why anyone talks about it. Its a bunch of retro shit ass marvel comic type stores. There are three stores (small shacks) selling bishoujo figures but they are nothing special. Maybe a rare figure or two. Okay. I don't really need anything from Type Moon, Feng, or Broccoli, and those'll probably take you a while to work through, especially Type Moon... by the way, Navel's site says they're not attending, and only selling music CDs at E☆2's booth:

    http://www.project-navel.com/navel/news/events/

I've got to take care of buying doujin for a few people on Day 1, and I'm going to be tired as hell afterward, so I probably won't get around to going up to the kigyou area myself. If you end up stopping by Dengeki and they're still selling that Kuroneko set, pick one up for me and I'll buy it from you at the /jp/ meetup. If you can't get it, then don't worry about it.

    Awesome.
I don't even know if the multiple books are going to be there (reprints which may or may not occur) so it might be a moot point.

My list looks kind of puny compared to the one I sent you for C79. Guess my heart isn't into it anymore. Ironically I have more money to allocate this year too. I should go sometime because I know I will burn through at least $500 without blinking if I was there because of impulse buying.

Last time I was in Japan was close to three years ago and it's interesting to see the changes. Large girl idol groups seem to be the "in" thing at the moment amongst otaku culture.

Not to turn this into my blog, but I think you're too down on maid cafes. After walking around akiba or denden town for a long time it's nice to have a cool place to sit down. The regulars all love anime and manga (and often so do the maids, or at least they pretend to) so it's an easy place to make some friends.

Wow, the meetup sounds like it's going to get a lot of people this time.

    >>8307734
    I was the guy who did the first Comike /jp/ meetup back at C76. IIRC a girl showed up to it along with her boyfriend, but they weren't /jp/ers, and they left before we went to get drinks. Subsequently, I remember seeing a post after getting back home that day saying that the poster left the meetup right away because we were all failures at life, or something to that extent... ;_;

Other than that I don't think any girls have showed up to the meetups, or at least not the one's I've been at (and I think I've been at most of them). I wouldn't have any problem with it at all if a girl showed up, but I have to admit it might be just a little awkward, what with /jp/'s misogynistic atmosphere and all.

Dammit, I can't believe I missed that Aosora book. Such a valuable piece of /jp/ culture, lost...

    >Failing to buy rare company goods despite coming on the first train
This happens occasionally, and it sucks. Companies often have extra supplies for days 2 and 3, but often times they're smaller than the supply for day 1. It depends on the company. Although, day 1 is also the day that has the most people (mostly reseller faggots) lining up for kigyou stuff, so you might have a better chance of snagging stuff on day 2 or 3 if there's extra supply since there'll be less competition.

A couple kitchen jokes are okay, but repeated misogyny is a disappointing replacement for humor.

I'm attending the event with my cousin; but she's just a kid. I'd be hesitant to stop by, if this was the general atmosphere. I also don't want to be the awkward penguin bringing a kid along on a drinking trip, so, depends really on what you've got planned. If we're not stuck in lineup somewhere, we'll come to say hi, perhaps. Wave if you see a tiny girl with blue/black hair & a Chrono Cross bag.

I got them outside of comiket in some rundown akihabara shop few months back. The only figure that I saw in comiket is this. No idea who is this.

I once got an American credit card blocked just for USING it. Apparently, the company saw a charge from outside the US, and automatically assumed that my card had been stolen, because I guess they figure Americans never leave the USA. Took a fucking week or two to get it unlocked too.

    >>8308954
It depends on the company. I don't usually go to the Type Moon booth so I'm not sure about them, but this page seems to suggest that there won't be anymore:

    http://www.typemoon.com/event/c81/mobile/info.html

I do know that Type Moon is notorious for having certain things sell out before people from the first train can make it through the line.

Seems like you've discovered why pepole buy-resell so fervently.. That's why most of the people in day 1 lines were resellers, it's a reasonable profit, if you need an additional source of income. $50 is like ~2 hours of work for me, so it really isn't worth the time to line up just to sell something when I lose opportunity cost on stuff I actually want though.

Dang, the service at your bank is not so hot then. My credit union must be one of the best because if you can give them common sense requests and info, they can do almost anything for your card or account as long as a manager approves it.

If I was in your shoes, I would have connected to my online account and posted the request to unlock the credit card. I'd also mention other info that makes them "feel better" that it really is me and that I am really in japan. I'd point out my transaction history shows i bought airline ticket, hotel, and various other expenditures for japan before the card was locked due to my error.

The main thing is to not just show them that it is me, but to prove to them it is me and also to provide certain types of info to make the manager "feel confident" that it really is me since the manager would have to approve the unlock. The key is getting the manager. A regular employee might not even suggest the manager route to you so you'd have to ask.

That's cool. Yeah, I get the impression doujinshi based on Western properties aren't huge sellers anyways (unless it's by an established artist), so you probably made the author's day by buying that.

    >>8315458
Actually, that author was also selling some ero powerpuff girls doujin that sold out before I even wandered to the stand. I think it only sold out because it was ero, or it was a myth to begin with, I'm unsure what to think.

Do you even post on /jp/ regularly? Because you seem like a complete imbecile from these posts. I would seriously reconsider either your target audience, or the way you conduct yourself.

Just because people didn't tell you to get your shit together that doesn't mean it's okay to act that way. And just because the people you were with act like retards that doesn't make it acceptable either.

In all fairness, I didn't think they understood the english for semen. Also, not even sure how that's awkward. Perhaps you are the awkward one if you cannot hold conversations with people.

Oh, yeah, I forgot about the Powerpuff Girls. That's one that really did make a breakthrough, though I'm sure the anime interpretation helped a bit. Otherwise, I can count the number of scanned doujinshi of Western shows on one hand (or two). Still, I'll be shocked if Chiba Toshirou's doujinshi of comic superheroines doesn't get uploaded eventually.

Shouting semen isn't a fucking conversation you asshole. I can't believe this shitty thread is left unmolested so these douchebags can circlejerk about how cool and hip they are for shouting obscenities.

If we aren't even allowed to have mourning threads about poor innocent Apotho-tan then why the hell is this allowed?

    Really?

Hey, it was cool how we merged with that 2ch meetup.

This was the best /jp/ meetup I think, out of the ones I've been to. It was a lot of fun. Like I said at the meetup, I'm absolutely awful at keeping in touch with friends in real life, so if I never talk to any of you again I'm really sorry.

Going to bed now though since I need to sleep before tomorrow. Fuck em if they can't take a joke.

YOU are the reason people don't like associating themselves with other people who like Anime/Manga/VN/Doujin games.

I can only imagine at least some people who were with you thought you were humongous faggots but didn't say anything out of awkwardness/politeness.

Please, get out of my board.

Semen drinking, penis worshipping, and deep conversation about who is the best tripfag in a maid cafe: that was pretty cool.

No, the maid wanted someone to guess what this milky colored special drink thing was. I said it was probably semen, but since we took up the whole bar section, it sort of ended up into a yell across the bar.

No one was shouting obscenities. The meetup was full of people who weren't really trying anything bad or unusual. It felt like the way I've always imagined a /jp/ meetup should feel.

But it's not really worth explaining here on /jp/ anyway.

Going to bed now anyways. Even with a ticket I still have to wake up in about 3 hours. I wish I could sleep longer... ... ...

In regards to day 3, was anyone else approached by a TV crew wanting to an interview? I declined and got out of there, not too keen on being ridiculed on tv in a foreign country.
