Well, maybe, but there are no birds that need to lay their eggs so they can fly, so my point is still valid.

Post hoc ergo propter hoc? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallacy#logical) My trying to make her fly after she laid eggs does not >imply that I tried to make her fly because she laid eggs.

Then you already though she could fly before laying the eggs... I mean, some fish lay eggs and the cant fly. Laying eggs is not a reason to think something can fly, and neither the opposite, but you clearly wouldn't have though of her flying if she didn't lay her eggs.

    >some fish lay eggs and the cant fly
Fish eggs look nothing like the ones she laid. Her eggs were clearly oblong, hard-shelled eggs like that of birds, not slimy eyeball-lookalike caviar fish eggs.

    >Then you already though she could fly before laying the eggs
You misunderstand, I did not make her fly BECAUSE of the eggs, regardless of whether or not it was an inspiration. It may be a sufficient cause, but not a necessary cause.

Then you are simply a terrible person, since you didn't have any proof that she could fly, but you tried anyway... you are not as terrible as those who made her jump knowing what will happen though.

I usually see myself but covered in blood.

    >>8236310
As soon as you start feeling yourself wake up, just stop and prepare yourself to stay absolutely still. Stay still once you wake up, it'll feel like you have electricity going through your body and you'll hear a loud buzzing noise. Just wait it out for a few seconds as it gets louder and stronger, then you'll start hallucinating, for me, I usually see a contorted face and feel like I'm being pulled towards it.

I've had a massive dry spell lately while trying WILD. Has anybody here EVER gotten that technique to work for them?

Whoops, forgot to mention that the whole hallucination ends in you being sucked into a dream, knowing you're dreaming from the beginning

Sound scary. All this just for lucid dreaming?
Personally I prefer normal dreams since I wouldn't know what to do in a lucid dream. I just wish there was a way to make my dreams feel more real

    >>8236772
That's just for if you're already in a lucid dream and start to wake up. Depending on how far you are into your sleep pattern, you can have around 5 lucid dreams in a row. You'd think it would be scary, but you're not really awake enough to care.

There is a way to make your dreams feel more real. Two that work for me, actually.

Once involves lucid dreaming, in which you use all your senses in the dream, listening to thinks, touching things, tasting things and whatnot. After that, any dreams afterwards feel far more realistic because you notice all these things naturally.

The other way is just to eat something big before going to sleep. Don't know why it works, but it does.

I've seen myself in the mirror, but really warped out, face defigurated in a surrealistic way. Very weird and one of the most scary things I've lived. I didn't wake up inmediately though.

I've never been able to WILD but I'm considerably porficient at MILD, specially using the wake-back to bed technique. Shit fucks up your sleeping schedules.

I'm terrible at MILD, I repeat something until I fall asleep but it never really works. Any tips?

Perform reality checks during the day, for example, try to remember how you got to where you are at the momente, or pinch yourself to see if it hurts.

You can also put your alarm clock about two hours earlier than when you normally wake up, then have breakfast or something while thinking about LDs, and go to bed again. I have had most of my LDs this way.

Im afraid of not being able to have normal dreams after trying lucid. I hate the thought of this because I don't want to be limited by my conscious imaginatiob
    >> Anonymous 12/14/11(Wed)17:04 No.8236867
    >>8236859
This will hardly be a problem as when you stop trying to LD, they mostly stop happening.
    >> Anonymous 12/14/11(Wed)17:07 No.8236882
    >>8236856
I do plenty of reality checks, I've been making a habit of looking at my hands and pinching my nose. I also set my alarm to about 5 hours after I've gone to sleep, mess around for a bit, then go back to bed.
I just can't think of a good "mantra" or anything.

    >>8236859
It's not like you have unlimited control over everything that's happening in a lucid dream, weird shit will keep happening as soon as you stop paying attention.
    >> Anonymous 12/14/11(Wed)17:10 No.8236895
Even when I manage to achieve lucidity I always lose it really quickly... The dream will either fade out gradually, where it feels like it's sort of slowly getting grainier until I notice it's over and I'm laying in my bed with my eyes closed, or I'll quickly "forget" that I'm lucid and go back into regular dream mode.
    >> Anonymous 12/14/11(Wed)17:17 No.8236928
    >>8236895
The key is to keep you lucidity in a medium state, no too much or you wake up, too low and you'll forget you're in a dream. Just enough to let you enjoy the dream while intervening when you want to change something or take control over things. I'll admit it, it's kind of hard to get the hang of it though.
