04/18/11(Mon)08:48 No.7242032Easy. First
off, there is nothing "rude" in using sage. If people find sage rude,
then that is that particular community's problem, each to their own and
all that. 4chan, contrary to popular belief, is not -one- community. /jp/, /tg/, /co/, /a/, /lit/, /v/, etc are all different communities. In
its very nature, there is nothing rude with sage, there are many
legitimate reasons for why one might want to use sage to not make their
post count.
And as to why one might use sage over noko+sage.
Well, to begin with, the idea of "stealth sage" is stupid. There is
nothing you "avoid" by using it. Rather, if by the offchance someone
actually does react to it, then they should just leave as it is clear
that they don't like it, and that the people here would be bothered by
him in return.
But using sage, devalues your post as to make it only relevant as tiny notice in the thread you actually posted in. If
people can see it, its easier to keep track of when the thread was last
bumped. Even if a thread doesn't need to be on the front page(s) at all
times, doesn't need it have to crash and burn. But if one can see
it, one can also make note of how the it slightly changes how the
message is conveyed. If one interprets it as rude or anything like that,
then something is wrong. But it can still say things such as how the
message might be more directed to the followers of the thread, over the
community as a whole.
There is nothing wrong with using sage.
Discussing it like this shouldn't be necessary however, and I should
feel bad about posting this. |
