I haven't really put any effort into my room yet, since I just moved in recently, but the last house I was in had pink ribbons along the walls from the previous owners and I never bothered to change it over the 14-ish years I lived there, so my care level is pretty low.

I don't have an awful lot of books.
    Libraries, etc.

Some educational books, Lonely Planet's Japan, and I brought Stieg Larsson's "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" back with me when I went skiing with my family last year.

Pic related as to my "collection" of Japanese books in Japanese.
I haven't had time/motivation to read them even though I bought them in Japan last summer.
    Maybe next summer.

I think 2008/9 was cooler, I love having my PC near, and connected to my TV and I thought the solution in your 2008/9 room (as in, having a computer desk next to a wall mounted TV) was pretty cool.

I love room threads, they inspire me. I love rooms like OP's (I saw it on another site so there's a chance it's not his tho) and yours and some others in this thread that look nice, tidy, classy and clearly the owner of the room has a sense of design, but still manages to fit in otaku stuff without looking out of place.

I read one time about a couple who got together because, get this, they BOTH enjoyed wasting thousands of dollars on sexy girl anime figures.

When I hear shit like that I am just convinced that there's someone for everyone.

You just have to lower your standards, then go to cons.

I use photosprintedoncanvas.com. I'm sure there are other sites too. Just google canvas printing. For size I wouldn't go less than 100 dpi. So if you want a 24x36, you'd need a 2400x3600 image, though you can probably go as little as 75 dpi, but it'll be a bit blurry up close.
