Hanako was mai waifu before she was even named Hanako, or even had more personality than the blurb RAITA attached to her prototype.

She remains to be mai waifu through the demo of Katawa Shoujo and will likely be in the actual release, though it still technically remains to be seen.

Rin was unexpectedly awesome.
Shizune was expectedly awesome,
Hanako was expectedly annoying, as she combines a lot of things I hate in a heroine. Even though scars are the only thing I actually have a fetish from all the disabilities in game.
Lilly was nice enough.
Emi was shitty.

Game itself was pretty nice, writing was pretty good overall and the protagonist is likable. Art is... definitely good enough.
Realistic enough setting, and character driven plot are things I value the most in VNs, and Katawa Shoujo does them right. I really have very high hopes for the full version.

I can only speak for myself of course, but I'm split in two:

1) On a general level, I absolutely approve of 4chantards DOING something instead of simply consuming. We should not let Japan hold a monopoly on doujin works. We should be better than that, and KS is a step in the right direction, even if it seems to be groveling at the feet of the Glorious Japan in its own right.

2) That said, I don't really think I'll be able to give much of a shit about what is apparently a dating sim whose only notable trait is that it's not from Japan.

So way to go, KS devs, good luck with what you're doing, but personally I'm going to hold out for something more ambitious than yet another date game.

I don't like how the devs keep thinking KS will be marked down in history as the first real good OELVN, or that it'll change the way Japan views the western VN community forever.

When the shift in focus went from a fun game to a serious one, it became just a generic renai with cripples, and not the game that was envisioned on 4chan when it started.

I'm giving it a chance when the full game comes out, but I'm also worried that it'll fails to impress despite the amount of attention it's getting.
