    Ridiculous.

"Government is not the solution to our problem. Government is the problem. From time to time we've been tempted to believe society has become too complex to be managed by self-rule, that government by an elite group is superior to government for, by, and of the people. Well, if no one among us is capable of governing himself, then who among us has the capacity to govern someone else?"

Frustration because they can't ban bluefin tuna and whales. So they figure they need to ban species that is closer to home and damaging to the main villain Japan.

    Which is goldfish.

That's logical if you ask me. Goldfish are tied directly to their culture. So that's gotta be a hit.
    >> Anonymous 04/07/10(Wed)22:53 No.4836240

It's a bad law. It's there, I presume, to prevent the younger kids from getting their own goldfish and having it die within a week or so because a lot of goldfish species are actually way more sensitive than is appropriate for such a supposedly 'easy' past to take care of.
So goldfish dying left and right isn't a good thing, of course, but actually making it into a law, suggesting it is a societal problem of enough consequence that it needed to be legislated upon, makes it a bad law.

But Britain, frankly, has a lot of bad laws these days. It's one of the most borderline fascist countries in the G20, and number 1 in the G8.

What's more hilarious than the story reported in this articles is seeing non-British people thinking of a the Telegraph as a reputable newspaper.
In truth, it's just a shitty sensationalistic tabloid no better than the Daily Mail. This is not the first time I see it spinning a story to serve their own political's ends and it certainly won't be the last.

Eh? You can get by on a decent budget in both South Korea and Japan if you don't live in the heart of a major city and a pittance if you live in the country, but it's like that in most places, including Russia.

I wouldn't exactly call Indonesia 'gaijin-friendly' either. Sure, the tourist places like Batam and economic hubs of western commerce are fine, but the cost of living isn't exactly cheap in those places either.

Always avoid the metropolis to save cost. Outskirt or nearby major cities usually provides enough infrastructure and internet.

Im hoping that this is another scaremongering law passed to cut down on crime, but will only be enforced 1% of the time in order to keep the newspapers happy.
The amount of laws we have which are rarely, if ever, enforced here in the UK is astounding.
