Yeah well, I'm an almost 26 year old American Otaku (eternal virgin for you gaijins). I draw Anime and Manga on my tablet, and spend my days perfecting my art and playing superior Japanese games on my Sega Saturn.

I train with my electric guitar every day, this superior weapon can cut clean through steel because it is folded over a thousand times, and is vastly superior to any other weapon on earth. I earned my guitar license seven years ago, and I have been getting better every day.

I speak Japanese terribly, both Kanji and the Osaka dialect, and I write terribly as well. I know everything about Japanese history and their bushido code from playing Sengoku Rance, which I completed with a 100% save.

When I get my Japanese visa, I am moving to Akibahara to attend a prestigious maid cafe to learn more about their magnificent culture. I hope I can become a music composer for Konami or even an erogame tester!

Anyways, I'll be making /jp/ my permanent home if its not too much trouble, konichiwa!

They want low N and high A and C always, high E for customer interaction, low O for drones and high O and E for management. Always answer Disagree Strongly or Agree Strongly, because the tests work on a point system typically. Try to remember your answers, because they rephrase questions several times to "catch you lying".

20 year old here. Two years I moved out of my parent's house to attend college in a nearby town. A year after I had moved out, a combination of part time college and full time employment burned me out hard, so I moved back with my parents and continued going to school

When I move out again, I'm going to be finding myself some roommates. Honestly, living alone and still paying college tuition is a luxury in today's economy. It is just plain smarter to split the costs of living with other people

Protip: Your job does not have to be hellish and soul-sucking, hence getting a degree/qualification in a field you like.

So you aren't interested in any useful trades, such as bio, comp sci, etc etc.

Then, getting a job will allow you to pursue your other interests more fully.

I dont know if things are different in the US or something, but at least here it would not make much sense to move away if you're still studying (unless you need to move away for studying whatever you want to). And dont have any problems with your parents, of course.
and especially in a place like this, dont take living with your parents as a sign of being underaged.

Most jobs suck and are incredibly draining. Besides in shitty low paying mostly manual jobs; for most jobs for graduates or anybody well educated, maintaining your position and doing your job requires not so much on thinking, but maintaining a large network of back scratching acquaintances and carefully pruning social networks so as to secure your position in an office heirachy.
The only exceptions would be a few jobs in engineering, programming and pure research, and a scattered few other skilled professions.
Even Banking nowadays is based not so much on having an understanding of finance, but having lots of contacts in the right places to pass you deals regardless of whether they're worth anything.
I'm glad I've got the potential to go into pure mathematical research. If I could only manage an ordinary job, I'd probably go Hikki at the thought of it.

I will agree that the social networking and gladhanding to attain a job is total bullshit, one reason I am not going into business. However, even though I am going into research like you (different field though) there is still plenty of that in science as well. Sucking the profs. or lead's dick to get and maintain your position, doing shitloads of busiwork to get published, etc. Basically, knowing someone gets you the first job, and it greatly varies from there. But then again, I find having a job is more rewarding than being spiteful and trying to rationalize a basement dwelling existence (and this is coming from someone who is pretty lazy at heart)

Well....that's unfortunate, but just means slightly more ; - ; for you. I'd recommend getting your GED, but I'm sure you can find grocery jobs etc. that don't require one for now, just for resume fodder down the line. As for presenting well, these are jobs that don't exactly have the cream of the crop applying to them.

In the end, it's all in your head, and if you decide to present well, then you can. Just have mom dress you, smile, make eye contact, don't mumble, blah blah. If need be, just tell yourself you are far superior to them, so you don't need to be nervous, as you are their better. That's helped me in public speaking before.

I'm 25 and I leech off my mother, since I've been unable to get a job during the last year and due to health problems I always have red eyes, so I end up looking like a junky on the interviews even though I don't have many problems with the interviews. Due to all that, I'm waiting for a surgery and after that, I hope to get better to look for a new job.

I like being a lazy ass without a fixed schedule, but the lack of money is hurting me and my mother needs my help to pay the bills, which makes me feel guilty for not being able to get a job, so even if I could manage to be able to live alone, I won't do it so soon, since she needs my help.

20, male, 5'11", 300lbs, live by self in a 2 master bd rm apt, work at nearby hospital as CNA/ERT, also pick up 48hr shifts as EMT, also fulltime student trying to double major in psychiatric nursing, and psychology. ya, i'm a looser. mostly i just let friends stay in the extra master bd rm, i should move into a smaller place but that'd be a hassle and craps to busy. plus i like it here, even though the apt seems a bit big/empty.

I don't get this "independence" bullshit that you kids today mouth off about.

"I THINK IMMA GO PAY EXTRA MONEY TO LIVE BY MYSELF SO I DON'T HAVE MY PARENTS ON MY ASS, THAT'LL SHOW EM!"

I don't see anything really good coming out of it unless your parents seriously annoy you. If you have an average family, then why the hell should you move out? My whole family lives in this house, why the fuck would I move out of here? My grandmother owns this house and doesn't even pay for bills. Know why? Because her wonderful children pitch up money together to pay for the bills. Rather than paying the electricity and water bills they would have to pay alone, they split the cost with each other and pay a hell of a lot less than if they rented places on their own. It shows, because my family has enough spare money around to support my NEET ass without any problem.

Not that I need much. I can eat food from the fridge that'll go to waste anyway because they always buy a crapload of stuff but end up ordering outside food. I get a small allowance that's usually used for my figures and such because I sure as hell don't have much else to spend the cash on.

tl;dr - Moving out of your parents house as soon as you're 18 is something I really don't get. Why the hell do so many people jump on that idea? It makes more sense to stick together and cut the costs of living. Fuck you guys waste so much money, and that's a lot coming from someone who annually spends upwards of $100 for a single fucking figure.

This man is correct. While I still think one should be getting a job, nothing wrong with living with your parents if they are cool and don't enrage you; it is incredibly cost-efficient.

It's the one thing Europeans actually have right. I have a German friend in his mid-30's still living with his parents, and he is upper-middle management at a major corporation, works 9-5 etc.

I hate to be the guy bringing this up, but living with your parents does not look good to the opposite sex for obvious reasons.

Nobody here cares about that, though.

Normalfags, just get the fuck out. If you have a job, that's nice. I'm happy for you. If you love your job, that's great man! Internet high five! You're a cool and productive guy in society.
But don't come on /jp/ of all places, and start up with your tired normalfag bullshit, "Oh, working's not so bad, you just haven't found what you like. Working can be fun, just get in touch with that special thing that you enjoy, and make it work for youuuu~ Learn, and grow, and it feels good man I love my job and you can toooo~"
Fuck, the hell, off, and go suck your bosses' dicks at your office. Or give your lectures on /adv/ and /r9k/, where people actually want to hear them.

yea sure, have been living independently since I was 17 and moved together with my then girlfriend because my family was essentially broken and my brother had turned into heroine.
after the military, I moved to Sweden and lived there with my new love for a year, working for Microsoft, after which I moved back to Finland where I worked as on-site technician for a year while preparing for entrance exams and started studying my masters in engineering at the age of 22.

my life has been so fulfilling I feel I have nothing to achieve anymore. kinda depressing. currently living with a cat in a flat.

Work full time and live with parents.

There's only 3 of us in a big house, I'd rather pay them a little bit of rent then pay 600-1000/month then for some really, really shitty living in a flat a few blocks away.

I don't have much going for me with education right now, but I'll probably continue to work full time for a bit, then go to some trade school for some computer shit. I don't even have enough crap to fill a house/flat anyway, be even more lonely
