When you get down to it, where is it any different? An immigrant will always be treated as an outsider by the general public. Why do you think America has so many ethnic enclaves filled heavily by one immigrant group or another? They huddle together because they're always treated as outsiders by the greater whole (and rarely get along with one another, either).
