it could also be about writers or other things in general, like Murakami who initially was shat on by every critic in the country
anime and manga isn't the only thing that gets credit abroad

Wow to the Germans
They are good at singing

8
France and Italy may have a longer history, but in terms of community size and number, it's probably USA after all

I'd like to talk to the gaijins that can discuss about old animes

France has a artistic Manga-culture thats different from Japan, right? bande dessinée?

22
Hmm, so Germans are Hentai

23
So Russians hate Germans?

24
If it's anime only, it's Italy

25
Though it's not Anime only, my image is
France Finland >> Germany Sweden (Bunch of biased male fans) > Norway (female fans) > East Europe (sub-culture fans) > Italy (old anime) >> other > England

But in terms of traditional culture or history, England and Netherlands are superior to others. They are disgustingly well versed
>>
>>10121710

26
Otakus are everywhere. But if France has Manga culture then it must mean that they are ready for Anime then.

28
Italy fans seem natural. I hear they have many shows aired.

29
Obviously France or Italy. Not Germany.

30
France after all. They don’t do piracy and pay for the contents, too. Let’s be friends, France

31
France people buy stuff if it’s Manga.
Finland is starting to buy stuff as they are being put on Manga and Anime these days?

32
Nice article, I need a part 2 on this

34
Yea, USA fans need action. Hayao was told by some US journalist that “千と千尋” is too quiet.
Italy fans like old and maniac stuff. Special effects, SF, robotics. French fans like “少年漫画” stuff ナルト、ブリーチ、リボーン、デスノ、ガンツ
Northern Europe fans like “ゴスロリ” or Japanese girls’ fashion
>>
36
Stop playing around with the foreigners that don’t even pay

How is “オナマス” famous abroad when it was only published only as a fan project in Japan?

40
(About the Germans’ singing their own version)
Obviously wrong and don’t understand the good parts of the original.
I understand how low their level of senses are now.

41
Wonder how the North European people will think about “ヴィンランドサガ” if they see this

42
In terms of history it’s definitely USA but somehow they had a cool-off time around 70s and 80s and other countries went passed them

43
I thought Italy was the biggest importer of anime and they had the largest variation of animes aired? In that sense, it may be the Italians who can discuss old anime with us Japanese
>>
>>10121799
>Let’s be friends, France
>They don’t do piracy
Well well well... everyone does anyway so let's say that people generally buy a lot of stuff.
>French fans like “少年漫画”
Spot on, though obviously only young guys are into this mostly.
>>
44
Fans from France or Italy, and Northern Europe or South America and SE Asia are familiar to anime naturally as they’ve seen them in their childhood just like I used to, so I kind of can feel a sense of affinity to them pretty easily. They love anime for real.

Those who like Anime Otaku as a subculture thing, they just like Anime by chance and they tend to just boast their knowledge and deny things they don’t like and really make me irritated. And they’re looked down at from other whites, and called “weeaboo” and etc. so they tend to attack Japanese as a counter... 4ch people are like that especially, they say things like “I like anime but hate Japan”

Well you don’t have to like Japan but you don’t deserve to hate Japan

45
In Northern Italy you can just go to Kiosks and find Japanese Manga. They used to air Japanese anime in the evening and they don’t have much cultural censorship so I did see a lot more Japanese stuff than I did in France

46
My Image of Anime Manga Fans Level

A Canada
A- USA Germany Sweden
B+ Spain Belgium Australia NewZealand
B Netherlands Russia
B- Poland Greece Norway Denmark
C or less England etc

Google has a feature to show which country has the most searches according to that word, and I’ve searched for some old animes and somehow Chile used to come on top so often

48
The German’s song is pretty good

49
Definitely France who evaluated “のんのんばあとオレ” highly

52
Looking at Youtube, USA and Canada is usually at the top.
But Russia is catching up, and had somebody playing “けいおん” and the “steins gate” OP sang in Russian had some great quality.
I’m guessing it’s about Internet coverage and the trend should continue to spread around other countries.
I’m quite interested about how this would grow, and I crave for interesting Manga or Anime to be made in other countries as well

54
(about Norway having a “ヘタリア” fan community)
So “ヘタリア” fans are hated in all countries? lol

55
My image of the Norther European fans are that they are poor but doing what they can

57
France is way ahead as Manga is well spread over there
Italy was dead in the 00s but it’s catching up and I’m quite happy about it
And boy is Russia growing rapidly, I’m looking forward to them

58
People probably don’t know this but Mexico has a number of anime fans
I was quite surprised to see many shops that retailed anime there
>>
60
*46
Russia must be a lot higher than that, at least in A. Cosplay people walking in the old city, some people coming to Japan to become 声優, some trying to learn to draw Manga and putting them on Japanese magazines, singing Anime or Vocaloid songs, Making “real-versions” of Anime or making some Japan style anime with STUDIO4C or having some 2ch Vippers... etc. etc.

61
France may like Manga and the toys, but Anime is prohibited, right? Italy has a better taste I think. Other than European countries, it’s definitely Taiwan.

62
Nice to know Anime is all over the world now

63
I thought I heard people talking about Spain pretty much but I guess they aren’t much yet
>>
64
My Image
A+ France Italy
A Canada USA Russia Finland Germany
A- Sweden Spain
B+ England Greece Australia NewZealand
B Belgium

C or below Netherlands Norway Denmark

Germans and Russians like Anime pretty much, but not as much as France and Italy

Don't think it's very popular over there.
At least I can't recall seeing anything manga/anime related in England when I've been there (I go there a couple of times a year).

They're pretty spot on with Denmark being low-tier, too.
We had a manga-boom back around 02-04, I think, which brought along some anime, but it died out completely a couple of years ago.
The only manga that's sold nowadays is Naruto, as far as I know, whereas we had like 10 different series being sold at practically every single bookstore a few years back.

They know ;_;
>>
They are surprisingly well informed about the fandom in other countries. They might be biased on those who aren't well known like those from South America but they really know their stuff.
>>
>>10122067

of all the countries of the UK England probably has the largest anime/manga community, if only cause it has the most people. shops like HMV sell anime from 5-10 years ago in tiny fragmented selections and the book shop waterstone's sells Manga in the same section as western graphic novels and comics.
