This is the imageboard thread, to discuss various other imageboards besides 4chan. From Russian boards, to Chinese, feel free to discuss and share any interesting ones with us.

A few days ago people were talking about where people would migrate if /jp/ were to be deleted. This is of course hypothetical and never would happen, but I thought it was an interesting subject. The two boards people brought up were Tohno-chan and Uboachan. As critically received Tohno is, I believe it would be better suited for /jp/ migration than Uboa. For three reasons:

1.) It is simpler, and less messy boards.
2.) Compared to Uboachan, it is slower (this can also be a bad thing to some.)
3.) It's users seem to be/have been /jp/ posters.

What do you guys think?
>>
Ever been to 10chan? It's for English speakers and Japanese speakers to get together and chat about shit with translations. Too bad it's really slow and the translations suck.
>>
I think tohno-chan is more like a combination between /a/ and /r9k/
Not from topics but how they behave
>>
There's really no substitute for /jp/. /bun/ and /foe/ are probably the closest you can get.
>>
>>10048489
That actually sounds really interesting, it's a lot better than chatting with Japanese on niconico live anyways, especially since a lot of Japanese set their channels to premium only since the merge. I'm sure it'd be a lot better if it's full English/Japanese instead of through Japanese- as if like a learning tool.

>>10048514
>>10048534
Actually, why not yotsubano.me? It's probably the closest to /jp/, or some sort of faux-futaba.

You ladies need to get in pigg.
>>
I think tohno-chan is like what /jp/ was before it got flooded with retards. ie, full of elites pretentious faggots who think communicating in ways that require a dictionary to understand, and ending every post with a quote, as if they're trying really hard to prove how intellectually superior they are to others.

still better than this shithole though.
>>
junkuchan.org/jp/

Hidden board set up due to another thread on /jp/ right now.
If worst comes to worst and moot decides /jp/ isn't necessary anymore, migration is welcome.
>>
>>10048632
what the hell is this? the /v/ imageboard for /v/ posters?
>>
>>10048669
What do you mean? It has nothing to do with /v/ whatsoever.
>>
>>10048632
where do I deposit my shitposts?
>>
>>10048699
it wasn't, but i was referring to /j/ (which i assume is the random board) and the supposed "anime" board /a/.
>>
>>10048711
use /j/ for that.
>>
http://tohno-chan.com/mlp/

Hey guys this is the secret /jp/ death board tohno made for shitposters only.
>>
I just want a place to discuss onaholes and touhous.
>>
>>10048751
i was talking about the posting style or whatever but okay

>>10048735
aw this is pretty sad, dead imageboards really are heart breaking. i kind of want it to have some post these next 2 years.
>>
>>10048764
posting..style? I dont quite follow, I'm afraid.

And I also keep forgetting my sage, sorry about that.

>>10048764
okay never mind fuck this guy
>>
Moot's never going to decide that /jp/ is unnecessary, but I like tohno-chan.
>>
>>10048489
Deader than sparky's failure of a board.

>>10048781
Tohno is the least bad of all the alternatives. Too many boards and too autistic, not laid bad enough, but all the other places are worse.

>>10048758
I want a moderately paced place to discuss all of, but not limited to:
Onaholes, touhous, touhous music, doujin music, tea, tulpa, meditation, sleep schedule, various chemical intake, lifting, computer peripherals (headphones, keyboards), airing anime, recent VN, recent LN, masturbation, doujinshi, pixiv artists, doujin games, dakimakura, figurines(incl hotglue), snakcs, drinks, desserts, MMO, MMD, niconico streams and videos, mangas that are finished, dempa and the list goes on.
>>
>>10048856
The topic of how many boards they have has been brought up a few times on their meta board, most people seem to not mind, while many others believe the abundance of boards generates more posts/content.

For example, Tohno-chan might have a 7000 post videogame board, where as /bun/ would have a 700 post videogame thread.
>>
>>10048954
>>10048856
I have vehemently insisted that we trim down the number of boards on the meta board, but nobody will listen.
>>
I never posted on any imageboard other than 4chan, and I only browsed a few.

It's really scary!
>>
/bun/ is the only real answer, one moderated forum, one unmoderated forum, and an appropriate userbase and association.
>>
I don't know. I've mostly been in /jp/ all these years because of VNs, and it doesn't seem that community will be moving anytime soon.

I feel lost now, even in /jp/, secluded to a handful of threads. Even though I enjoy Touhou, own Gift nuigurumi, and translate.
>>
>>10048978
what would it accomplish?

don't forget the /azn/ board on a certain imageboard which is wordfiltered here. (hint: it's a .net domain, sounds similar to 4chan, and is the Japanese derogatory word for a Korean)

apparently a "milk" tripfag posts there all the time; not sure if its the same person as the one that posts on /jp/.

/bun/ has the most retarded board names.

Why is their unmoderated shitposting board called /photos/?

To OP: this might not have been such a good idea for a thread after all, don't you think?
>>
Why in the fuck would you mention Uboachan? It's gone to shit since the new admin took over. It's complete garbage (and he deleted /basement/!).
