Why does one never hear of these countries? What goes on here? I've been learning Spanish for about 4 years and I've never been to a Spanish-speaking country, but I certainly don't want to go somewhere that's "most like America". I'm leaning towards Panamá, since it is probably cheaper than Chi/Arg/Uru/Mex. Respond in English or Spanish :D!

Panamá is probably a bad choice if you're looking for something different to the USA. Also, it is surprisingly more expensive than Mexico. Chile, Argentina and Uruguay are okay but they're pretty boring.

Maybe you'd like to go to Oaxaca or Chiapas. Its really mindblowing. Guatemala too for that matter (lots of mayan remains, etc).

Costa Rica is Okay as well. But they suck up to be like the USA too much, like panama.

Dunno about nicaragua, and STAY OUT of Honduras and El Salvador, they're pretty much the most unestable states in central america.

    conoce tu meme come gatos

Because those countries are shit. Costa Rica has some good beaches and good surfing but unless you've been there before and/or know your way around the tourist traps and into the cool out of the way small fishing villages you'll just feel like you're is a shitty version of Puerto Rico. It's cool, but way to toursity.

Ask questions properly next time, your question was suggesting that Mexican food was the most widespread food WORLDWIDE which is just plain silly.
There is a reason Taco Bell closed down you know. It actually closed shop in several countries.

Portugal fag here. Mexican restaurants are few and far in between in my city and only one or two are actually good, but regardless of how accsesible the food is, almost everyone know what a Taco is. It's almost as recognizable a food as pizza or hamburgers. This is debate is absurds. I couldn't for the life of me name a dish from Brasil (at least one that wasn't originally ours lol) or Argentina.
