I haven't found a decent bar yet.
I live in a kinda small college town, and all the bars cater to them, and thus, are filled with cunts.

I mostly drink with buddies at their house or mine.

For some reason most of the excellent pubs/beer halls run by expats has gathered in my part of Stockholm, so I can choose from Belgian, Czech, English, Scottish etc.

The pub in my picture specializes on beers from the isles and American beer. The owner is very knowledgeable about American micro breweries and imports loads of exciting beer.

Aside from the Irish pubs, we don't have pubs, we have cafés.
>>
>>6751543
Why are people so enthused about Irish pubs? In Ireland I had to take an American client out for the night and he asked to see an Irish pub, so I took him to a tourist pub with all the shit and he thought it was real. He actually cried when I took him to an actual pub.
>>
>>6751558
lol americans

they dont seem to grasp the idea that a real pub has an underlying atmosphere of menace and possibility of violence
>>
>>6751575
no, we do. we just call those dive bars.
>>
>>6751575
And that it's also illegal to get drunk in them
But then again it's also legal to shoot a Welshman with a bow and arrow inside Chester's city walls
>>
>>6751583
>bars
Exactly. You don't have pubs, nowhere outside the British Isles have real pubs.
>>
>>6751558
I'm not. I went to an Irish pub yesterday with friends. Basically because it was late and we wanted a hot meal without having to resort to Mcdonalds or kebab.

Irish pubs are extremely overpriced for both food and beer, and seem to always be filled to the brew with moronic Irishboos and English tourist scum looking for an excuse to fight.

Some dildo scribbled IRA on the toilet door. I couldn't help scribbling "Rule Britannia, Britannia rules the waves" next to it, that'll sure rustle some douchebag's jimmies.
>>
>>6751587

>>6751592

It is not by chance near the stadium Legia Warsaw?
>>
>>6751615
Nah, 'cause they're usually not properly pubs. There's an abundance of them in the Dordoigne since it's called Little England. It just doesn't fit in and it's not a proper pub.

Real pubs are usually a few hundred years old and serve pub food and pints. Most of these pseudo-pubs don't fit that.

>>6751621
Are they 'Irish Pubs' with shamrocks on the doors and red haired people playing incessant folk music?
>>
>>6751603
True, it's just semantics. Here a café is where mainly beer is served and people go to get drunk, try to get laid and generally have a good time.

The tea/tart places are called 'tea rooms' here.
>>
>>6751645
ever see It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia? That's what most Irish Pubs in the US are like.
>>
>>6751645

There are some pubs here (although very few), who fit your description of a proper pub, the only difference is their age.

A decent pub should have history. I'm sure that there are bars in America that have history and are very nice, atmospheric places, and don't pretend to be 'pubs'.

On the flip-side we also have modern pubs (the dreaded 'flat-roofed-pub', which are soulless and nasty.

I like getting hammered in a place where generations of liked-minded people have been doing so for hundreds of years, there's something very agreeable about it.

Not always, but a lot of them are. We have sports pubs for people who like to watch EPL. We also have normal pubs. Our country was born in pubs you know. One of our founding fathers was a good brewer. He even has a beer named after him.

In France we have cafés and we have brasserie.

Brasseries are much more specialized in beer, and you can often eat there. Sometimes choucroute (saukraut) if it's a Alsatian Brasserie, like the famous Lipp one in Paris.
