    >Tell me how you can enforce communism today without a totalitarian government.

You seem to be conflating capitalism with human nature. Now, anyone who has a kid can tell you that the concept of private property is lost upon a child (I have had kids shoplift on so many occasions that I should be in jail by now. When a child sees something that they like, and no one else is using it, the instinct is to take it without paying for it.) but the entire history of humanity seems to go against the assertion as well.

I'd suggest you read Mutual Aid: A Factor of Evolution by P. Kropotkin and The Evolution of Property from Savagery to Civilization by P. LaFargue. They describe the earliest conditions of humanity as conditions very similar to what modern communists want. That is to say, the means of production are shared in common (not owned by a capitalist class or the state) and what is produced goes to the benefit of the society as a whole, not the benefit of the capitalist or state.

The earliest conditions of humanity involved living in very small groups where sharing is accepted because you know everyone closely. As soon as you put us in cities of a million people, that stops working. Why force us to act against this? This I suppose is where the idea of the New Soviet Man came from, and we all know whit that derision that ideal was held by the average citizens of the USSR.

I don't see why to love capitalism. On one hand, is the idea of we should live in community, sharing the wealth, and on the other hand is the idea that everyone should deserve an amount of wealth proportional to his own work. Capitalism is none og them, you can't have huge (almost irrealistic) amounts of wealth, and there's not a fair retribution (in most countries, the worker does all the work and the boss gets all the money), and also wealth is transferible, meaning that you could inheritance, or win the lotery and live all your live like a king without doing anything. Also, is irrealistic, I mean, the crisis does not always happen because the natural resources are depleted or the people doesn't work, but sometimes they just create bubbles of financial hope, that gives you money, even when the buble is just full of air, and then it pops, and suddently, even if you do the same work, you get less money. Today, the value of money is more arbitarie than ever.

"Something else happened during that chaotic scene, something that convinced Chen of the monkeys' true grasp of money. Perhaps the most distinguishing characteristic of money, after all, is its fungibility, the fact that it can be used to buy not just food but anything. During the chaos in the monkey cage, Chen saw something out of the corner of his eye that he would later try to play down but in his heart of hearts he knew to be true. What he witnessed was probably the first observed exchange of money for sex in the history of monkeykind. (Further proof that the monkeys truly understood money: the monkey who was paid for sex immediately traded the token in for a grape.)"

Socialism isn't some kind of utopia, the second socialism becomes an unscientific utopia and stops being a practical goal that is achievable, it loses all valuable meaning in human society.

Socialism is also not supposed to be a democratic system, because democracy implies the 'people' as a whole, without class distinction, socialism would be more rightly be called democracy of the working people.

Socialism is not a government of the people, but an administration for economic production.

Also, why do people keep calling North Korea communist? They have private property.

    How are communists "primitivists"?

The basic component of the modern economy, especially since industrial revolution, is the surplus. When labor is combined with a means of production, ie a factory, a surplus product is produced.

The owner of the means of production can thus sell or trade that product. In capitalism the surplus product is appropriated (stolen) from those who produced it (labor) by those who own the means of production (capital).

In socialism the means of production are the property of those who work, and thus the rents and income accrued from such property do not go to the capitalists, but to the working people as a whole, as represented by a public administration.
