    New Yorker here. I walked by the rally for the first time today. I agree with some of their issues, but that doesn't seem like a pleasant place to be. I guess I admire them for sticking it out for so long... but it was kinda gross.

    Occupy Wall Street is quite simply protesting the disparate power that the financial industry wields and more importantly the negative consequences of it.

    Any hippy inclusive metaphysical bullshit is just the justification that specific useful idiots work themselves up with.

    If it were otherwise, the movement would be called hippy love fest 2011 and they'd all be fucking in a field in upstate new york.

    I love how this has turned into a generational war because noone actually knows what the fuck the occupy movement are for.

    The Baby Boomers have totally fucked over Gen X and Gen Y, both will be lost generations, not able to afford homes or have decent jobs or enjoy decent infrastructure people the Baby Boomers are intent sadly it seems on fucking everyone else over.

    Baby Boomers not retiring = lack of new jobs for young people
    Baby Boomers opposing every sort of infrastructure project = US has not really had any major infrastructure projects since when? the 50s?
    Baby Boomers utter destruction of the Unions = Jobs are far shittier now than they were 50 years ago, workplace fatalities are going up, wages in fact are going down and there are less jobs overall.
    Baby Boomers Paranoia over COMMUNISM! = major opposition to any sort of Welfare reform, reforms protecting the people from corporate abuse, Opposition to any environmental protection reforms, Unions kept down etc etc

    The country will not be back on track till the Baby Boomers die, sadly that isn't just my opinion, but actual fact.
