I cant speak for all parts of the country, but pancakes (flapjacks, hotcakes), eggs (usually scrambled, but some prefer a more whole egg called over easy), bacon (lol everyone knows bacon), and toast are considered breakfast foods. Sometimes you might have a bagel or a dougnut (usually a bagel) on the side.
In the south, Grits is popular addition, or biscuts, or okra. Im from the New England area, so I dont know too too much on the matter.

Not a lot of americans have time for breakfast. 6am is a pretty normal time to be getting up, leaving at half past for work or school.

When I moved to Europe, it was a breath of fresh air, but I still dont eat breakfast. Some coffee is fine for me. Nobody where I lived (Northern NJ, aka New England) really ate breakfast. Not a whole lot of fat people there, either.

If they have breakfast, it can be a bunch of things. An omelette with some toasted bread and butter, a canadian bacon sandwich (Taylor Ham Sandwich) Scrambled eggs with toast, pancakes, etc. I think breakfast is more of a southern thing. I'm honestly not even hungry enough to eat anything in the morning

    Also, nice logic there OP
Not eating leads to being fat?
    Are you fucking retarded?

Northern Virginian here. Customarily breakfast is eggs and bacon or sausage with toast. Pancakes, waffles, and cereal may be thrown in or eaten alone, but this is a much less hardy/healthy breakfast.

There are also breakfast sandwhiches, such as a ham and egg, bacon and egg, burger and egg, etc, all of this possible with cheese. There are also bagels or donuts, usually with coffee, for the notorious fat business folk.

In general breakfast is not treated well, we're supposed to get up and just rush to work eating any crap we can pick up, usually with coffee, and stay up late partying so we get up later or require more caffeine and often nothing at all to eat. The modern work week for most is a cycle of terrible health habits.

Just FYI, bready foods like donuts, bagels etc convert straight into sugar, and caffeine raises your blood pressure. The only way to avoid the sugar is using whole grain, and no big companies use whole grain for their donuts or bagels. The caffeine cannot be avoided unless you just do not drink coffee, which is hailed as "hip" and "tasty" or "the only way I get up in the morning" in this country. Great way to develop heart disease and diabetes even if you're "staying thin," dumbasses.

Diet does not cause diabetes. It can contribute to making you fat which increases your risk, but it cannot cause diabetes directly. The best defence against diabetes is staying fit and getting plenty of exercise.

Huh? When did I say diet causes diabetes?

I said that even if you're "staying thin" by eating bagels and other lousy white-flour shit that won't necessarily make you gain weight, you can still get diabetes because of all of the sugar intake. Even if it's not "sweet," the white flour all converts right into sugars which will fuck you up real nicely if you are also sedentary.

tl;dr, Diet alone does not make one healthy or safe from some diseases such as diabetes that are reflective of sugar intake and not just weight alone.

Also this. You see, here in America, the coporations have their boots so firmly up our assholes that, by twitching their foot, they can fling us out of our homes and into the workplace at the earliest hours of consciousness. This usually allows for a few pieces of toast, but not much more.

I wish I was joking, but I have been having this (pic related) every day since classes started.

Why? Because it's quick and easy. For years before this I only had coffee and vitamins in the morning, because I'm always in a rush and not really hungry in the morning. I actually have to force myself to eat when I wake up. This is so I have more energy during the day.

    >>4432482

    >Not eating leads to being fat?

Eating breakfast actually speeds up your metabolism. And you burn it off throughout the day and don't resort to eating a shitload at the end of the day.

Eating breakfast in the morning speeds up your metabolism. Not eating breakfast in the morning slows it down. And if you were to, hypothetically, starve yourself, your body eats away at your muscle before it does your fat, so before you become a skeleton, you'll just be a gooey mass of fat. Google it.

Californian here. I'll usually have a cup of tea and 2 soft boiled eggs or a piece of toast or a banana.

I think the traditional breakfast is bacon/sausage, eggs, hash browns, toast, and coffee. I never have that.

Personally when I have a "big" breakfast it's eggs + chorizo + a tortilla, and avocado if it's available. Or chilaquiles.
