08/12/11(Fri)08:24 No.4175086About myself: >Asian-Australian background (born and raised here in Sydney all my life since '83. >Parents came here with shit fucking all escaping genocide. For example my dad is the only one left of 8 brothers. >Parents managed to acquire skills, learn english, open up a business and buy a few houses. >I finished HS, had plenty of part time jobs during my uni years, made good connections and gained experience. >Had
a career in the city for a few good years and decided to open up own
business which is now very successful albeit very hard work.
And you tell me your fucking whinging because of immigrants taking all the jobs?? Bull fucking shit. When it comes down to it - it's all about who you are as a person, your capabilities and how you apply yourself. Let's
generalise then. In my business i've hired many casuals from varied
racial backgrounds, and in my experience? The Aussies where the laziest
by far and would just do the minimal required. On the other hand, my
Aussie mates at my old office were awesome, forward-thinking, pro-active
characters who never saw things in just shades of black or white. Employers and managers out choose who is best suited to the job. Get this idea of white privilege out of your head and this self victimisation against other races feeling going on.
BTW
- I have many friends of all walks of life, Aussie, Indian, Asian, Wogs
whatever - and guess what? We all treat each other with respect and
embrace each others culture. That is being a proper Australian.
TL;DR - Disregard race - be an awesome person and you will get employed. |
