    Korean(the Langue) appreciation thread.

guys, seriously, who the fuck would have the guts to invent this kind of shit in the middle of Pax Sinoika?
even japs which is the farthest from china have the long history of adopting the sino characters (which is obvious when you see the newspaper)

It's like Holland discard the alphabet and suddenly decide to develop new langue system of the unheard.

Soulless alphabet without history. It's really unfortunate they abandoned Chinese characters.

That's a bad analogy and you should feel bad. Korean script is massive faggotry, they could just as well romanise their stupid shit.

Chinese characters are an abomination against literacy, practically designed for the sake of giving the upper class a reason to feel superior to the lower.

Mandarin Chinese would work fabulously with a Hangeul-esque system (ie, every syllable is represented with 3 parts, one for the initial, one for the coda, and one for the tone)

sorry bro you didnt get the story
the korea has their own language, like japanese, they just dont have their own letters/text/characters

when adopting chara from china, japanese associate their own pronounciation with the new words from china and created new hybrid vocabulary, which is what now called kun yomi,
in kora, koreans tried to adopt both the pronounciation and the charaters(much the way like nowadays ,for exa. when new word "twitter"is indroduced in, it is written twitter and read as twitter like the place it originated,)

considering the difference of the pronounciation systems between china and korea and japan , you should imagine how difficult the process was(china has differe. accent to distinguish words that would otherwise be really confulsing and misleading in other pronounciation systems, and there are tons of other problems,)

it was fine cause at that time only few knows how to write and get the change to be literate,

but when came to recent period of hitory when korea wanted to raise the literate percentage, the emporer(correct me if it was inappropriate) found that it would be too difficult for his ppl to continue using the chinese chara to convey spoken korean language so he started to invent one on his own

however that also caused tons of problems that in korea now a coninuely louder voice ask to restore the chinese characters

sry bro you're unfortunately and saddly brainwashed by your korean-abusolutely-wonderful goverment propaganda

mandarin chinese can and only works perfectly with chinese characters. which is refined again and again in the process of the hitory of the longest and the only continuly living human race called chinese

Let's learn about Korean letter hangul. This is the words written by the person who created hangul. It says "Korean people are stupid, they can not read kanji, so I decide to make new letter for them". you can see the word 愚民. It means "stupid people". Korean never learn this fact in their schools. because it is a SHAME for them.

Many Korean words are made by combinations of kanji like Japanese and Chinese. These 3 languages have many homonyms. Japanese and Chinese can know the meaning of homonyms by reading (or hearing about) kanji. but 99% of Korean can not read kanji or don't know about kanji. Hangul is just like pronunciation signs, it is impossible to change spelling to tell one homonym word from others. So if Korean don't have dictionary, they have no clue to know the meaning of homonyms. It is inevitable Korean become stupider than Japanese and Chinese.

    OP here.
oh lord, typical /int/'s assburgers never fail to amaze me.
I didn't mean Hangul is superior to other language or its practicality.
what I'm saying is its artistic pov and uniqueness.
then again , It's /int/orelent, nothing may appreciated.
