have to consider that Islam is more than just a simple belief. It is a
way of life. If every single minor detail regarding every single major
and minor issue had to be addressed in detail in the Quran, then it
would span tens or hundreds of volumes.
In the Quran, it is stated explicitly: Obey God and His Messenger.
The
Prophet's sunnah (loosely translated "way of life") is a source of
Islamic law as well. When you pray, you pray as the Prophet did. When
you pay perform pilgrimage, you do so as the Prophet did.
As for
the shahada, that is the form that has been used since the time of the
Prophet. It is even part of the azan (the call to prayer), as set by the
Prophet.
Same goes for prayers. The exact form of prayer, the
number of raka'at, what you should recite, the timings, etc etc... most
of that is not specified exactly in the Quran. You need to follow the
Prophet's way of doing that. |
