the words of southpark, the US is an entity capable of doing horrendous
things, all the while telling the rest of the world that it doesn't
want to do them. on this note, the picture of modern america is a
fractured one to foreigners. massive hypocritical statements that have
almost become a mantra for most of the US people. if it's not HURF DURF
MERKAS BEST CUNTRY EVER it's DON'T BLAME MEE FOR MY COUNTRIES DOWNFALLS,
I HATE BUSH. it's this hypocracy that the rest of the modern world
dislike. hypocracy that runs through to america's core.
one thing
that is constantly posed is that the rest of the world is jealous of
the opportunity and the high standard of living that's possible in
america. in reality the ultra capitalist consumerist ideal is a mixed
bag of biscuits. on one hand people enjoy the ability to get what they
want and need quickly and easily, on the other it can also be attributed
to the almost worldwide depression we as a unified people seem to be
suffering, it's so easy now to live in a cocoon of material goods and
think nothing of otherwise important matters like politics and world
events. it's got to a point where we get so much shit rammed down our
throats that it's hard not to resent it. and yet we still see yuppie
types buying into brands like apple and facebook. |
