So, /int/, I'm sure you've heard this plenty of times before, but what is your opinion on the US?

Hard mode: Leave out stereotypes, "durr" comments, etc.
Impossible mode: Acknowledge the overall impact the US has had on your economy and military security, as well as your history.
    >> Anonymous 02/07/10(Sun)09:28 No.149717
American here. I dunno, what your asking for in Hard Mode does seem like a bit of cocksucking from the rest of the world.

inb4 some people like it, some people hate it, most are ambivalent. But those who profess to hate it the most will tell you so in English an on American run image board.

I've noticed that the rest of this board can't even form a coherent argument against America without having to resort to some sort of sad stereotype, misconception, or general dickery in an attempt to make themselves look superior. Of course, that can probably be said about Americans arguing against other countries.

It opresses smaller nations and takes advantage of then, it relies on lies and propaganda, it has no moral compass.

I don't believe in conspiracy shit but the Jewish influence is evident, but I don't care that much about Middle East anyway

in Europe, states under US influence had much better freedoms than under Russian influence (compare East vs West Germany, for example) and I am from Europe, so I guess this counts as a plus for America

but the same can't be said about South America and the half military regimes, that were supported by USA

and its influence on Balcan, its support of Kosovo etc. is.... let's say controversial.

But what I really like about America is the first ammendment - the amount of free speech in America is great. You had Nazi party in US that openly glorified Hitler. You can't say shit like this in Europe. That is cool, I admit.

    Koreanfag here.
America is alright on most terms. Helped us out a whole lot in the past, that's for sure. I was in the Korean Marine Corps for 1.5 years, and we had an lesson dedicated to how the Americans helped us out during the War and how we should be thankful. And we are thankful, but some things you do are annoying.
For one, the ton of Americans who crawl into Korea to teach English with a degree in liberal arts from some obscure American school.. I mean I know it's good money, and I know not all of those 'teachers' are American, and I definitely know that some of you guys are really really cool people.. But the attitudes some of you guys bring in with you is just inhumane. We are a nation of people, not wallet toting sacks of shit. Long story short, teaching English used to be a respectable job here in Korea, but that's starting to change rapidly thanks to some Americans.
Also, we don't hate foreigners. It's just we haven't seen in person as many foreigners as you would assume so sometimes we just get defensive. You guys have no idea how aggressive you Caucasians look with your piercing multicolored eyes, and big noses, and protruding foreheads. Not to mention your crazy hair colors and the fact that most of you are a foot taller than us. We don't hate foreigners; we just fear what we don't know/understand, which is what all humans fear.
Mehh I'm tired of writing so I'll leave it at that.

No Russia actually have higher PhDs per capita, and that doesn't mean anything
Israel, Dubai and Tonga (I'm not kidding Tonga) all have more PhD per capita than America, don't just make up some random fact, anon checks your sources.

I like the USA. It's basically like Europe, just a bit more wild. The land is just as diverse and had a short yet turbulent history. Being European, I almost have to like USA if I disregard the "lolol fuck bush, imperialist americans" for a moment. I'd take the USA over any other country outside of Europe.

    Sweden

    Impossible mode:

Some US corporations such as Ford buys Swedish companies such as Volvo and milk them for cash while sucking them dry of innovation. They can do this thanks to their domestic market and protectionist policies of the American government.

US entertainment companies such as Warner Bros lobby for decreased freedom on the Internet etc.

    >Pirate bay
Nope, ACTA, Anti-Pirate Organizations who get to play at policemen and such shit.
I dunno about quoted but Swedes got very pissed when the Judge was found out to be a member of a Pro-Copyright organization. And then the same happened for the guys seeing if he was corrupt.
And of course the policeman who investigated that shit Jim Keyzer took time off from the force to go work for Warner Brothers.
He dropped some corruption investigations of some others and the current corruptasfuck Judicial Minister (who also makes speeches at Pro-Copyright cons) decided to drop all investigations on him.

Hence all the hate over here anyhow. (Oh, and 4 or 5 laws they've pushed through to fuck over filesharers)

    American here
Things wrong with the U.S.: lazy, combative national congress more concerned with winning elections and raising money for them than actually doing things. Far right extremely vocal minority like the Tea Party fags. High Fructose Corn Syrup. Defense contractors and big business lobbyists. Republicunts that think we have the best infrastructure in the world when its crumbling around them.

    Basically: neocons

The private companies control the government who control our lives (to an extent).

Recently (last couple of weeks) the U.S. supreme court just removed restrictions on corporations so they can now spend as much as they want on election candidates, this includes subsidiaries of foreign corporations.
