When does the USA plan on apologizing to Latin America for supporting all the Right Wing dictatorships throughout the Continent?

That's a good point, but since we've been meddling in your affairs basically since the 1950's (1953 is the earliest I can remember, I think we got rid of somebody in Peru) and the government haven't appologized yet, I doubt it's coming

I bet the _average_ citizen doesn't even have a clue what their coutry has done there. If any apologizing is going to be done it ain't gonna be the politicans who start it.

How many countries in europe have officially apologized for their imperialistic past?
    >> Anonymous 02/06/10(Sat)15:23 No.143957
The CIA is viewed by some like the Praetorian Guard of Rome in that its grown to the point where its uncontrollable and does whatever the hell it wants to no matter what the President says.

    LOL! Good point.

To further illucidate: why is it that when a non-American views a movie or reads a book penned by an American and they really enjoy it, they never say "Damn, those Americans sure know how to write an interesting book or make an amazing movie." At best, they acknowledge that the author or director is a master of their craft.

But if some group of political leaders in the 1970's propped up a puppet regime in another nation they're quick to say "those Americans are so corrupt"? Like all 300,000,000 of us colluded to put Pinochet into power or whatever the fuck.

FUCK YOU! If you want to take the easy way out and blame an entire nation of people for the transgressions of a few men of the hour then it's much more a comment on your ignorance than the will of the American people. You're a part of the problem, not the solution, you fucking internet whiner. Stop toeing the line and do something to make a change or SHUT THE FUCK UP!

Hey, if it meant that the Commies weren't going to get any closer to the US, then what's with installing right-wing fascists that just want to oppress on people? At least they wouldn't be influenced by them damn, dirty Soviets.

    Almost all of them.

How about you take some responsibility for your own actions. All the failed states in latin america aren't US's fault.

So the Land of the Free
and the Home of the Brave
Are your stars still so bright?
    Does your banner still waves?
Oh, the Land of the Free
and the Home of the Brave
    Are you heaven on Earth
or the gloom of the grave?

The CIA involvement is embellished, but I won't deny they had a part in Latin America's problems. The majority of Americans have no idea about what the CIA has done and instead wonder why we don't give more attention to Latin America instead of Europe, the Middle East, East Asia etc. If anybody knew about the history of the CIA in South America, there might be more pressure on the government, but there isn't.
