the reds purples and blues on all the wheels are way off hue (which is why every scheme looks strange), and the cold/warm divide is completely off. cmy subtractive is way off colour, why is the blue between c & m purple? green is off too

In the middle of the process you may find useful to, let's say, creating contrast if you throw some complementary colors. You also gotta know everything about how light works with color, like shadows with low saturation, reflected light adding to the hue, etc. It is indeed very important.

It is extremely helpful if you want to paint. Not just colour flatly using only light/dark contrast.
