I'm not OP, but I'll try to clarify things. While a mouse could be used, it's not preferred. Most people on /i/ use a tablet and pen to draw. OP does the same.
With a tablet pen, the artist can press he tip in order to create pressure. The more pressure is put on the pen, the more pronounced the effects of the digital brush.

You can buy a Wacom Bamboo for a little over $100. This is a simple A5 tablet, and it works great (for me, at least).
But if you have the money and interest, I would recommend the Wacom Intuos 4. I'm not really sure about the prices in the US, but it's pretty pricy although completely worth it.

Im new here, so this might be a stupid question.
Anyway, I can't get the pressure sensitivity to work. It works in photoshop flash etc, but it won't work in chrome for some stupid reason.
Is there something wrong with my wacom drivers, or are there any settings I have missed?

I very much doubt it's a problem with chrome or wacom. Shi-painter doesn't support pressure sensitivity on it's own. To make it work, you have to install JTablet.

Once it's installed, open shi-painter and press that little icon that looks like a tiny flag/a square P.
