In designs I prefer sans-serif, but obviously for paragraphs usually a serif typeface is the way to go. Personally though, I find most serif typefaces ugly, though there are some absolutely gorgeous ones.

BTW - I made a project using Comic Sans (on the picture you have one page of it) for college and my professor (very good graphic designer) acctepted it and gave mi the highest note. I did it because everybody were joking that they will use Comic Sans in their projects. I decided to use it REALLY.
