Yea, apple has never really had the best. Its a tiny featureless netbook built on haswel, of course the air will have stellar life. Others will soon do it better and cheaper and on an OS with actual software.

I think it was PC world who reported 15 hours battery life. I'm on the 2011 macbook air which only gets like 7 at the most. Definitely going to upgrade soon.

"All day battery life" is with wifi, bluetooth, keyboard light turned off, and screen brightness on 2-3 bars.

Thing is though, when it's on sleep mode, it actually doesn't touch the battery at all, unlike other notebooks where the battery drains when on sleep mode

We call that "hibernate" mode. And yes, other notebooks have it.

That's called hibernation to the rest of us. Sleep mode powers ram, allowing the computer to resume faster. Hibernation is when the computer saves the current ram state to the hard drive and fully shuts down, which requires no power. Windows and Linux systems allow the user to choose which state to use.

Debating on purchasing a 13-inch. I'm getting tired of Windows, and while Linux is great, I don't think I could ever use it as my daily drive due to lack of certain software with no viable alternatives.

And while I could do a Hackintosh, I just don't have the time to set one up and hope it works without a hitch, which it more than likely won't.
