What does /g/ do for money?

Currently working part time at a McJob whilst studying CS at university, Just completed my first semester and things are looking decent academically but I'd like to be doing work that in some way, shape or form relates to the real job I'll hopefully get upon graduating.

Flipping burgers gets me by, but it doesn't get me anywhere closer to where I want to be.

Open to any tech related job suggestions.

Similarly, I'm working at a UPS Store to make some money for college. Don't exactly know what I want to do. Major is looking like history or cs

How's the work? I honestly think doing night-fill at a supermarket would be preferable to what I'm doing now, would probably pay better to.

I teach English to Korean children because I'm not smart enough for CS

It's extremely easy. I'm an associate, which means essentially the basic teenage job. I pack boxes for people, make copies for them, fax stuff, etc etc. It's air conditioned and keeps me out of the American southern summer hear, and there is a lot of downtime for me to read. My manager was a total bro (just got a new job and left), the new manager is also a total bro, and the owner is a quirky Indian guy that only shows up for a couple minutes a day.

All in all, the worst parts about it are sorting mail and dealing with assholes, but no reason to complain.

I'm also lonely as fuck because I don't know any one in this city and longtime girlfriend and I are finished so I spend like 7 hours a day doing nothing but being depressed about that.

Internships brah, internships.

$25K for the summer + free housing
>>
Currently my job is making sure search engine results are relevant. Super easy stuff, submission requirements are low so I'm pretty much browsing 4chan most of the time as I work.
I make $20p/h working from home on my own computer so very low expenses.

Apply to some small tech companies and see if they will take you part time or for the summer (kinda late for that this year). Oh wait, you're in aus, so I don't know when your 4 month break is, but try to apply to some tech companies.

Aren't most internships full time deals? More information would be appreciated.

Leave this place with your lies I refuse to believe that you make $20/h working from home doing essentially nothing, how did you acquire such a job?

My break is just ending.

Hello there fellow ausfag, I work at "lowest prices are just the beginning". Not studying at the moment but it's pretty okay money if you work there part time. And it can be pretty lax

I've got some friends working there, any tips or things that would look good on the resume to that specific place? Working in a big warehouse would probably be a lot nicer than where I am now.

Just put down your hobbies, certificates and things that you've achieved, even shit like football and all those sporting events. I applied when I was 15, been there for 4 years this october (19 now). Btw they don't do background checs. I think you can also apply online. What state you from?

I work in a specific technical/functional area of SAP. Holla holla make dolla, etc. but the hours/travel sucks (I've been on over 70 flights in 2013).

I recently got hired as a part-time front end developer.

Not bullshitting. Just made sure my resume was good and tell them I browse reddit (I don't) to keep up with news. Got to the next stage which is an absolutely brutal qualification process. All smooth sailing from then on making my monies. I don't know their pay rates for other countries but it's US$20p/h for Australia so I'm making only a bit more than minimum wage.

Nah, they didn't for me because I didn't have any. We just hired about 7+ new people as well. You should try getting a job there mate. Try not to get registers though, that's what I do and it can get boring as fuck

I was a manager at a small retail store for like 5 months

I quit because I fucking hate niggers so much, shit goddamn they turn into baboons with those welfare cards

Anyway, now I just do the usual leet haxorz shit for money, botting games, selling tech to old people, fixing shit

I... don't really make as much now, but I bought everything I wanted before I quit, so that's good

Lately there's been quite a few money related posts.

tl;dr: System administrator + self-employed/entrepeneur

Detailed:
During my Master's and Ph.D. program in physics I started working as a system administrator at the faculty of computer science. During my last few months my boss ( and professor ) recommended some places where I could work as a Sysadmin and basically vouched for me, when I decided to work for a company where his friend is the CTO or something. The company is based in Cologne (I had to move to get the job) but the biggest cluster-node ( cluster is about 15-20K machines big) is between Cologne and Aachen.

The job isn't all that flashy and people have no idea what to think or say when I tell them that I am a sysadmin, but I don't care. I'm 24 year-old half-a-million worth immigrant.
>>
>>35405337
I guess they're not hiring at the moment. Keep an eye out on job search sites.
>>
i work at a bob evans sausage plant. we make sausage links, gravy, chill, and chicken n noodle (and its all incredibly fucking tasty). im on 3rd shift setting up assembly lines and cleaning machines. its a shitty temp job but easy as fuck work. 10 united states dollarydoos an hour, 40 hrs/week.

you might start avoiding bob evans if you've seen the things i've seen. one employee accidentally dropped a bottle of chlorine cleaning chemical in a hopper full of gravy (which was later tested for chlorine, and still shipped out to the public). also we have black mold growing everywhere and millipedes colonizing in the fucking walls.
>>
>>35405342
Are you a genius or do you study all the time?

If so, what study method do you use?
>>
>>35405342

Samefag here:

Before someone asks, I didn't accumulate that money by just being a sysadmin ( I "only" earn 8K/mo before taxes ).

A big portion of it comes from some investment I made with a friend, who is in the clothing business. A few apps, a club I co-own with a Jewish friend. And some other shit.
>>
>>35405383
I wouldn't say so. I think I just enjoyed physics a lot, I'm assuming you're talking about my degree. And when there is something that you truly love to do, it resonates with you and you become great in it. You develop a passion for it and the thing people call discipline comes rather easy.

I always giggle a bit when someone tells me that they are getting a degree in art or some (economically) useless crap. But if they truly love what they're studying, that's the best thing they could do.
>>
>>35405427
What kind of apps?
