Taxes confuse the fuck out of me, and I haven't payed them even though I've been making ~24k a year for the past three years.

I want to stop being a scumbag and actually pay my taxes, what software do you guys use and do you have any general tips?

Depends on country that you're in, every one had different tax regulations.

I'm in the same boat as well, 2 years without doing taxes except that the government owes me around 3-4k. I don't do it out of pure unbridled laziness that only a NEET can possess.

Depends on how much you owe and if you're able to pay it. At worst they'll issue penalties and garnish your wages. Tax evasion is rarely prosecuted.

Many people don't bother doing their taxes and for good reason. In my country you don't even have to do them if you make less than 8k in USD a year. In the US the IRS is unconstitutional because it violates the 5th amendment. They require you to provide self incriminating information which you have a constitutional right not to do. There's a documentary on the IRS called "freedom to facism" that explains what the the IRS does, when and why it was founded and what it does today that's pretty good.
