i have heard of ppl unlocking SD and Micro SD cards to hold more memory then the label says. turning a 4/8 GB micro SD card into a 32GB one. the only reason iconside it a possibility is it would make sense to make a single 32GB chip and lock the memory to what you want to sell it as rather then to make one for 1/2/4/8/16/32 gig. not sure but this may be faster / cheaper. hell even if that make a 8 gig chap to sell as 1/2/4/8 and a 32 gig chip to sell as 16/32

so then is it true can it be done. if so i would be gratefull if anyone could char some information.

Why would any manufacturer intentionally cripple a 32GB chip and sell it as 8GB when they could just sell it as 32GB and make 4x the money? It makes zero sense.

The only one who does anything even remotely related is AMD and Intel who sells broken octo cores as hexa cores/quad cores and broken quad cores as tri cores/dual cores, with one, two or four cores disabled.

It's true bro. It's cheaper for companies to just mass produce them at one size and lock them after ward then to use different parts when making them.

All you have to do is microwave it for about 10 seconds.

The photons will hit the card's circuit, they'll be absorbed as electrons and they will travel to all parts of the NAND; forcing open the locked portions.

lol okay. i know intel and AMD do that. exactly, so who is to say that other electronics companies dont do this with other products ? also maybe they would do that bc not everyone wants to spend the money on a 32 when they can buy an 8 or a 16.

no such thing as a stupid question its the only way to learn. by asking question. just stupid answers.

you are a moron if you believe this. manufactures purchase the flash memory in quantities of thousands (maybe more). why would they lock a 32gb flash memory IC to only hold 4gb? that would make zero sense and cost money to ensure the chip is locked to said amount.

people who say they have "unlocked" more storage on their sd/micro are leading you on a ruse
