Is it just me or is Android dog-shit on steroids?

Okay... So I plug my fucking phone into my fucking macbook expecting it to act like a normal fucking disk... and low and behold it fails to mount as a normal disk... it doesn't even show up, and it can't charge properly... it keeps connecting and disconnecting.

So basically I can't use my normal PC to charge my fucking phone because the phone itself keeps disconnecting and reconnecting from the computer, essentially using up more power then it draws from the socket since most of the time the device has fully disconnected everything including power.

Next I discover some retarded shit called "MTP" basically the retards responsible for Android decided that "using the normal Mass storage device spec like Apple uses on the fucking iPod is too fucking conventional, let's fuck everyone over with some shit they never heard of" So you have to get some retarded drivers. The next thing you will find is that they don't even fucking work properly.

Ok... I say... so obviously they need to fix that. I'll just try to use Bluetooth instead. Hmm... How about I mount my Android device as a disk over bluetooth, that should work.

Wrong.

They don't even fucking support mounting over bluetooth. It's A-Grade Dog-Shit.

Which operating system are you using?

It is just you.

Did you need any drivers? I have a PC as well and it failed to mount as disk on that too.

MTP was due to lawsuits.

AirDroid is browser based and can access/transmit data without cables or drivers.

It's just you.
Also you probably have a dog shit phone, so what the fuck did you expect? You think someone can package android into a 100$ hunk of hardware and make it nice? Seriously?
>>
we're all terribly sorry you're too retarded to figure out how to work your phone. good thing you're probably too young to have ever had to program a vcr.

no, though I did install HTCs bloatware sync crap. That was because I wanted to unlock my BL and the guide on HTCdev insisted it was required.

Error.

Dude do you know how useful that would be? I want it now.

You're right OP.

Let me tell you exactly what they did. They said that UMS (USB Mass Storage) was removed in favor of MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) because when the phone's storage is mounted the phone itself has no access or control of it so something could do whatever it wanted to the storage. Although my own experiments reveal this to be a complete and utter lie. They try to say that with MTP things are more secure, but anybody can hack it, it's a much less refined protocol.

That's exactly what they did for ICS on the Galaxy Nexus. Some pre-ICS phones simply mapped the /sdcard internal partition so that it wouldn't mount via USB, meaning that if you don't have ICS or later, you're fucked.

Either way, any of the wifi solutions to get to your partition are really best. Even thinking about MTP leads down the path of drivers for Windows, apps for OS X, and extensions for Linux - kind of a mess really. The Nexus gang gave up and as a group went to AirDroid, but there are many similar apps that I'm sure are equivalent.
