I'm building a stealth van and i was wondering what would be better a small desktop or a powerful laptop? Now before you rail me I'm asking this from a stand point of power consumption, because this will be running off battery at night and solar during the day. I will be using set up in pic for power.

desktop would be more of a pain, but it could be set up better in the van.

OP what are you building this for?
Lately I randomly thought about do this but I have no real reason why other than it sounds cool.
>>
>>35477429
Yeah, either computer I get will almost never be moved and I don't want a gaming desktop to drain my batteries in a matter of hours. The battery bank is going to be 10.8 Kw/h, so I want to know if a high end desktop would empty that in around 5-6 during night use

It's really fucking cool, and road trips I plan on going on with friends. Somebody is driving and the rest of us are on the computer or playing on a console. and chilling for a couple hours in between classes

Do you really need a reason? It's a van that looks completely normal, but inside is the ultimate nerd cave. Enough signal boosters and cantennae, and you could pick up wireless signals from all over and bridge them all. I'd spend the first week driving around with Kali, cracking every connection that isn't unsecured and build a massive bridge so I have one big uninterrupted connection all around town. Fuck you OP, for not being a faggot. Now I want to do this. Fucking saved that image to make my own.
>>
Neat idea!
Also a laptop will use 30-95w and desktop more like 120-350w
>>
>>35477569
Get a "gaming" laptop, less power usage and it has its own battery, charge when it is dead. and no problems.

Thanks for answering my question.
>>35477853
You just brought up a really good idea, I was just going to get a mobile hotspot, thanks.

Nice rape van OP
>>
>>35478534
this, if you're really doing it you should consider a logo or something for both sides like a painting company, that way you'll blend right in white suburbia
>>
Fucking hell, if cars weren't so fucking expensive where I live I'd actually consider building this.
>>
Interested bump

>>35477345 (OP)
Fuck you OP, now I REALLY want to build one but because I'm dirt broke and living with my grandparents I cannot. I don't even the money for a driving license.
>>
I'm building a death van to drive up to OP's stealth van and compete. What shitty hipster shit should I just fucking tape on the side of it, to piss OP off
>>
>>35480452
You should get a job, then you'll be less poor
>>
>>35480486
I do have a job
>>
Das cool van, but the price is running at around $15,000, from the estimates on the sheet (Maybe I misremember it was a while ago). I'd love to make one but it ain't in my budget and I'm shit at electrician's work.
>>
OP, that chart is fucking retarded

You need to install multiple HO alternators

Yes, you can install multiple alternators in a car

Use Shuriken or Yellowtop batteries also
