many dumbphones support expandable storage and almost all support removable battery. Most users of smartphones do not need that feature

GSIV, because I like being able to switch out the battery for another one. Also, SD card support lets me upgrade my storage whenever I need to, without having to buy another phone.

With the HTC One, you're stuck with whatever storage size you purchase; you will never be able to upgrade it. Also, if your battery runs out and you're nowhere near a charger, tough cookie for you! I can get 10 batteries for my SGS4.

I've never found the need for expandable storage or a removable battery in a smartphone. Exactly what are you doing that would take up ~32gb of the HTC one's stock storage? I would never watch movies/tv on a 5 inch screen. I would never download shitty android/ios games. So what exactly is it needed for?

As for the battery, by the time you'd need a battery, I'd get a superior phone 2 years later anyway.

Probably the GS4. It's far from a perfect machine though. I liked mine at first but it's flaws are really starting to glare at me.

absolutely awful brightness settings. Can't see anything at all on a sunny day
colors are vivid but not accurate. Whites are god awful.

I don't regret getting it because I was still using a Droid X2. But I kind of wish I had waited to see what the next Motorola offering was.
