A good rig can play pretty much anything but PS3/360 and current handhelds. You have literally thousands of games just waiting to be played but ironically this is what makes you not want to play them.
>>
>>35540647
The Battle for Wesnoth has some good campaigns with nice storylines, but it's turn based.

Stronghold 1 (RTS) has a decent campaign, and Crusader is neat too, albeit quite short.

Starcraft and Broodwar have excellent campaigns and music.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 IIRC has nice music, scenarios and progression although not a cohesive storyline, just standalones.

Obligatory Fallout 3 and NV for FPS, brilliant in both areas, music and story.

Although the graphics are poor compared to todays games, I enjoyed Dungeon Siege (hack and slash), it had a nice linear progression plot, and good music.

The same thing sort of happened to me, since I stopped playing as religiously as I used to. However, when I do play something intensive, I know that the computer will be up to it. Thankfully, I do other intensive things than playing games.

Still, I'm starting to use things like Dolphin more and there are a whole load of PC games which I haven't played, but should've. I'd play more shit, but I got so used to having other commitments that I keep repressing my gaming urges. Not good. :<

Sad how people should KNOWwhat the current state of games are, unless you have not participated in the gaming scene for decades.
And if so, why on Earth would you pour so much money into a gaming PC if you pretty much KNOW what to expect in a modern video game?
If you're so uncertain about games holding your interests.
Why not get a cheap used console to find out if you like games?

Sure Intel processors are better, but are you also proud of spending an extra 30% to get a 10% performance boost over an AMD?

Meanwhile I'm performing better than you because I have an extra $100 to spend on my graphics card.
>>
>>35545049
>Caring about bang for buck instead of top performance
Oh, I see, you're a penny pinching autist who has to scrape together loose change and save up your autismbux for a few months to budget build, sorry.

Some of us can afford to splurge on luxuries like Intel CPUs and Nvidia GPUs, meanwhile you're using your budget parts while I use Intel's best CPU with Nvidia's best GPU and don't have to shortchange any other parts of my life to do it.
>>
>>35545091
Enjoy wasting money then. Why don't you get an AMD system that is 90% as good (actually it's only the processors, right now the AMD cards beat the Nvidia cards) and then get 5 new games to play? Or get 3 monitors?

The 7990, which embarrasses the Titan for the same price.
Nothing Nvidia has can touch the 7990, and the 7970 will equal or exceed the rest, except maybe the GTX780 being a brand new card, but again, muh 7990.

Intel CPUs are better than AMD CPUs however you cut it, but I can get an 8350k for £150 that will come very close to your i7 in 90% of games, and will exceed it in multi-threaded processes.

If we both have £2000 to spend, I'm going to come out with a much better system than you, with the bonus of more accessories and peripherals, or I could just spend 30% less and match you, while using the money for something else entirely.
