I have $300 to spend on an unlocked smartphone. What should I buy?

I'm between a Nexus 4 and a Galaxy S2. Or are there phones that will go down in price once this Nexus 4 is announced? Needs to be AT&T compatible.

I decided that it would be better to by a smartphone than buying a small laptop for travel, a GCW zero for emulating, and a new dumbphone like the Nokia 301. In total that would be more than $300,

It needs to be unlocked, or on t-mobile because I don't want to pay the monthly fee for a data plan. There's wifi everywhere I go.

The Galaxy S2 is shit and old, get the Nexus 4. Nexus 4 is already out and I doubt it'll be lowered in price anyway unless the new Nexus phone or X phone would be very competively priced, like the Nexus 4.
