It's fine. It doesn't have the sound quality of other MP3 players, and you have to live in Apple's retarded world. But it's still a great device. Don't even get me started on the apps.

I have an iPhone, and my cousin has an iPod Touch. The reasons she hate it are the reasons I love it, any good application needs internet. If you're place of employment doesn't have wifi or you're constantly in wifi-less areas an ipod touch is for the most part just shit, especially for the price.

With that said as far as touch-based mp3 players go there are also better.

There's also better phones than the iPhone, but app-wise I love the options, only reason I like it.

Almost forgot, my phone IS jailbroken so I enjoy free apps and better apps that Apple decided to deny.

1)Save up and get an Archos, especially if you plan on getting more music
2)Choose your favorite music and toss it on something like a Cowon D2.
3)If you have a smartphone get Simplify Media or try and find an equivalent for your phone's OS.

Shit's nice, I have under 500MB of music on my phone, because all of it's on my PC, I only keep my "What if I'm somewhere with no reception music" on my actual phone.

If you use JUST MP3s and a some midrange headphones, the ipod touch is alright.

Jailbreak it, pirate ipod apps (like you don't already pirate music) and install them. The fact that you don't see a ton of peoepl roaming about with this setup should clue you in to the fact that they are a minority (like black and tan jews) and can't be taken seriously.

Unless you're an audiofag that spends $100+ on headphones, rips and downloads everything to FLAC, and carries multiple 16GB MicroSDHC cards with them for a dinky ass player, then it's alright.

If you want to feel "special" and "unique" then join the rest of the wintards in getting a Zune HD. You can feel special by buying the "other" ipod.

And don't feel bad about pirating ipod games. Turns out everyone is doing it to such a degree it's actually hurting app developers.
