People
who falsely protect themselves with the banner of Christ because they
face persecution yet do not truly believe are far worse than those who
have admitted to sin yet remain honest with themselves and honest to
those around them about their beliefs, saying they are not sure.
If
they are truly not sure, the righteous will refuse to lie to everyone,
including God, claiming that they fall under his protection as they are
a "believer," even though they know and they understand that they are
lying (as well does God).
If there truly is a God, those who
speak the honest truth from their heart will be protected by Him moreso
than those who lie about being devoutly faithful to him in order to try
to save their situation on Earth. If the people believe your lies on
Earth, you will be safe there. But you will not be saved in the eyes of
the Lord.
I refuse to be a courtroom Christian. If God will come
into my life, it must be for reasons unrelated to saving my situation
here, it must be for saving my situation in the afterlife.
The
extremely devout do not hold a monopoly on righteousness and truth. The
sad thing all believers must admit is that many of the extremely devout
lack any righteousness or truth at all, yet they still shield
themselves behind Christ while ignoring his words. |
