weeaboos seem to be pretty immature, I'd imagine this is because
western cultural works have a focus on realistic situations occurring
to outlandish characters, like, for example, Captain Zargon makes
toast. This isn't fantasy you can relate to of yourself, rather, you
enjoy watching the character react to situations you might encounter
everyday.
Conversely, Japanese anime and manga often revolve
around an everyman, to whom outlandish circumstances occur. It creates
a fantasy world around a character that one can relate to and imagine
themselves in. It appeals mostly to children, or people with
underdeveloped psyches, adults who like to play 'pretend'. |
