ht tp://img.4chan.org/* in "URL pattern" (remove space in http)
    Click "OK", then "Close"
    Right click FoxyProxy icon again
Select "Use proxies based on their pre-defined patterns and priorities"

Note: If you get redirected to
    ht tp://img.4chan.org./r9k/
take out the third period, or you won't be able to post.

Reading Reddit, it seems to be a problem (accidental or intentional) with some of AT&T's routing. It'll drop on the DSL side, but if you're on AT&T's Tier 1 routers (backbone), nothing happens to the traffic- it is fine.

how could we fight AT&T though? they're unimaginably powerful. aside from convincing them through letters and such, which i think would be ineffective. They already know a lot of people would like to be able to access /b/. The decision to block /b/ must have been made at a very high level, with a lot of discretion and careful consideration. After all, img.4chan.org is still probably in the top 1000 or so of all websites in the world. If illegal content is posted, and they have reason to believe it will be posted again, they can use that as justification to ban it.

Although illegal content is posted on youtube as well, it's posted less often, and it's much easier to make a case for the existence of youtube, by appealing to the values that "normal people" will agree with, than it is for 4chan.

    A few ideas here.
Couldn't Moot bring up legal actions against AT&T for this? In essence what they have done is block a portion of hits from his site making the value of the site go down as he advertises in /b/. Couldn't AT&T have to then block any and all connections to any P2P networks? As they constantly have "illegal" content. If they don't block torrent sites but they've blocked /b/ (showing they have the ability to block questionable sites) wouldn't that then make AT&T liable in any copyright infringement suits that arise from torrent use because they didn't block it?

I know right. In blocking torrents they could justify that they are helping to preserve the rights of the copyright holder, and saving the recorded media industry, as well as some other corporate BS they'll brew up (network usage). But blocking /b/ only shows that they think that they can decide what you have the right to view on your computer, and hurts the profitability of this site for Moot and his advertisers.
    Moot should sue!

Your suspicions would be wrong. To your suggestion, I have read my contract. Nowhere in my contract does it state that AT&T has a right to block access to websites that are legally owned and operated. If you can find where it does, I'd be more than willing to listen.

It is possible that they are starting with /b/ as a test case. (Who will publicly defend that cesspool)? Once they win in court, then they have precedent and can start to define exactly how you will use the internet. It was really only a matter of time before this started to happen. I've been online since 2600 baud modems. I've long thought we were living in the wild west days of the internet. Restrictions on the internet have been coming for ages. It is up to consumers to demand that companies not engage in needless regulation and censorship. If the masses accept the corporate web, then all we will get it youtube, facebook, etc.

Also, this is why I don't like monopolies. However that is a different discussion.

Without limiting the foregoing, we shall have the right to remove any Content that violates this Agreement or is otherwise objectionable. Just as Comcast is known for throttling traffic, AT&T, in their discretion, is allowed to block websites as they please. They made the investment for millions of dollars of broadband equipment -- regardless of how utopian we'd like things to be, it's their equipment and it's their choice. There is nothing in their AUP or TOS stopping them from this.

The only way to stop this is to vote with your money and jump ship to another provider, or shut the fuck up and wait for it to pass.

I'm not sure what property rights we're talking about here. AT&T owns some lines. They have a property right to block anyone they want from using those lines.

There may be some other law saying the opposite, but that would not be called a property law, it would be called a COMMON CARRIER law.

"FREEDOM" and "FREE MARKET" doesn't mean letting people get away with that ever the fuck they want when ever they want. Everyone has rights and responsibilities. Like everyone has the right to free speech but you'll still get arrested for yelling FIRE! in a crowded building. These morons who say "free market" means they can do anything are just trolls who want to see the system fail or are trying to make a profit by abusing the system.

You're an idiot. Freedom = Free. What's going on here is a LACK of freedom. Don't be one of those ill-informed sheeple that actually believe that there exists "freedom" in the United States. The U.S.A. is an extremely authoritarian state, and the only semblance of freedom that exists is there only to pacify the masses.

Okay. I finally got an answer. I talked to their Tier two and he escalated it and after much holding, he has a definitive answer.
AT&T has blackholed the IP addresses involved. Supposedly they've notified the related parties (A company called Net Asset whom he tells me i could reach at (559) 650 8111 if i felt the need). He wasn't able to find out definitively why they blackholed img.4chan.org but said it's most likely due to content.
