    i got a new laptop, so i'm doing the installing stuff right now, so far:
    - Firefox
    - Notepad++
    - Foobar2000
    - µTorrent
    - CCleaner
    - AVG Anti-Virus
    - Spybot S&D
    - Foxit Reader
    - WL Messenger
    - IrfanView
    - Office 2010 Technical Preview

    Am i missing something? Should i replace some of those for others?

    You should download the Windows 7 RC, if your laptop came with Vista then you should seriously consider upgrading.

    -foxit reader / adobe pdf reader (foxit doesn't correctly load some pdf's thus making it meh and if you're careful with what you download the security holes in adobe reader shouldn't be a problem)

    Last time I used irfanview it was jaggedy. Why don't you use something like picasa photoviewer, it seems to do decent.

    The pdf I had trouble with was one that you needed to interact with, like filling it out as a form and it didn't work properly so I had to finally use adobe reader. Though also I suppose you really don't run into those very often.
