what's a good pair of headphones for between the $50-$80 price range (or less)?

i can get a pair of WeSC Bongo headphones for pretty cheap, and they're normally $85.

are they worth it, or is there something better for my buck?

i want them for listening/mixing music, and then just using for day to day use.

get them they look nice, grado or akg makes good ones
earbuds work best for travel, they're lightweight and dont drain battery

i'll mainly be using them with my computer, so i'm not worried about battery use.

but i don't really know anything about headphones.

this is the info i have, but it means nothing to me:

40mm drivers, an impedance of 30 ohms, and a frequency range of 20-20,00hz

    does it looks good?

    right.

    ok.

i know they're more of the "fashionable" kind of headphones, but i was wondering if they're actually good quality as well.

OP, one of the most important things, if not the most important thing, to look for in headphones, above all, is style. Think about it, you're going to be wearing these things on your head all the time, and more likely than not people WILL see you wearing them. As such, you want to make a good impression, and not only that, but get something that sounds good while doing it. That's why you should get Skullcandy. Just look at those sexy things, they look so good that you just KNOW they've got to sound amazing. Not to mention that they're definitely attention getters, and girls might even make a comment about them.

Don't listen to these pseudo-audophiles that throw out obscure, unproven brands such as Grado, Sennheiser, Koss, or whatever else is the trolling flavor of the month. Just looking at any of the pairs that the trolls recommend, you can SEE right away, the lack of quality, in both design AND sound.

Sony MDR-V6. These are excellent. Check the reviews on Amazon.

you have a good point, but sound kinda like a troll yourself at the same time.

    lol.

my point is, we got about three pairs of WeSC headphones into the store i work at (2 pairs of the Oboe's for $55, and one pair of WeSC Bongos for $85) and i can get them at a highly discounted price.

i like the design of them, but i'm wondering if they're actually worth the money as far as quality goes, or am i strictly paying for the name.

    >20-20,000hz

Try to shoot for something from 10 - 25,000 at least.
Also, you need an amp/soundcard/both if you ever want to get your money's worth.

It's easy to set up, best buy /amazon sells amps for like $30. Your basic amp has jacks for input and output (probably 1/4"), your stereo/computer probably outputs to 1/8", just get a 1/8 to 1/4 jack, and a 1/4 extension, put it in the input of the amp, connect your phones to the output of the amp, turn on music and enjoy. Turn the stereo output to the max and use your amp's levels from now on.

OP, whatever you do, don't buy skullcandy, they are a joke and only sell to preteens who think they look cool. Their hertz range is an utter joke, trust me they suck. Go with ANYTHING ELSE
