I'm having playable fps (45+) on 1920x1200 resolution with everything maxed on a simple 8800GT OC'ed.
It shouldn't be too difficult to find a new graphic card doing ~60fps on 1440x900.

As with all Source-based games, it heavily leverages your CPU as well, moreso than say... Crysis, which is like 10% CPU and 90% GPU, so don't bother getting something extravagent like an HD4870 if all you have is some shitty E5200.

all you need is like 4850 or a 9800gtx+ if you really wanted to spend some cash you could try getting a 260 or a 4870 but for l4d you don't need it.
