Never used 'em. I'm a customer of ftp.drivehq.com. They offer real, proper FTP accounts. Free for 1GB with a 50MB per transfer limit, or 3GB with reasonable limits for what works out to twenty-five dollars a year. They have nice phone software, but the service works with any reasonable/not wholly broken FTP client. One could always run the client on their home computer, but here, I don't have to worry about PC downtime, nor security concerns from running an outbound service.

It's a godsend for those into retrocomputing.

It also removes the hassle of making running my own server. Besides I only keep school work, not important documents in my Dropbox, so if they want my old problems they can have them

Drivehq is the only phone that can share, hypothetically, between an Android, PalmOS, a midi Javlet phone, a Beos box, a Sun server, a 486 running Windows 3.1, an Apple IIgs, a Turbo XT, a 68k something graphics computer E.G, macintosh, and a dead badger with an SBC stuffed up its ass. FTP is an early Internet technology and goes back to the early 80s and Ethernet boards that had dozens of TTL chips, sustained several hundred kilobytes a second over very thick cabling, required vampire taps, were largely incompatible with each other, and often dropped packets. Modern FTP standards go back to the late 80s/early 90s, meaning most any computer can run an operating system with an FTP client from the early 90s or later (e.g, MS-DOS and wattcp-based, Trumpet or K9, Win31 and WS-FTP, M68k and NCSA or Fetch on newer Macintoshes, standard BSD on vintage UNIX-type hardware.)

There is no good way to deal with it that doesn't eat mountains of bandwidth.

Altering a single character in a text document inside an encrypted container could potentially alter the entire file that is the container.

There is no way to incrementally change a file that is completely different.

Depends where you live and if there is a road (and thus streetview) within range.

No one knows about Spider Oak.
I use it because they block Dropbox in the office, but the client looks like it's from the 90's not mentioning the lack of user friendliness.

These guys say they'll support Google Drive too, I'm waiting for that.

Like I said, enjoy living your life in fear. You know you have a 1% chance of getting in a car wreck and dying tomorrow. Guess you shouldn't ever drive or maybe just take public transportation everywhere. Better to be safe than sorry, right?

You know you have a very slight chance of dying in your sleep. Guess you shouldn't ever go to sleep.

My free dropbox account is 16GB and growing. I like Google (I'm already too deep into the botnet to care) but I don't see a reason the switch.
