Are people really this stupid?
Your
posts aren't sent to Google's servers. There would be no point to it
and it would cause issues since you literally have to throw the post
content like a ball from 4chan's servers, to google's servers which in
return has to throw it back to 4chans servers.
The only thing
that happens when you fill in the captcha and hit submit is that the
text you filled into the captcha field is sent to google's servers
through an API, which then responds with eiter true or false depending
on if the captcha you filled in corresponds with the captcha image.
The only information that is sent to/stored at Google's servers related to the captcha interface is: > Your IP > The IP of the 4chan server > The private/public key that links this particular captcha with the account moot has on google's recaptcha site > The URL of the particular page which requested the captcha verification (Eg. "http://boards.4chan.org/g/res/23823565"; but it might also be just "http://boards.4chan.org/"; ) > The captcha text you entered (obviously) > The captcha grading (Eg. Did you fill it out correctly? This happens internally) > The time and date of when the request happened (This also happens internally) >
Possible information contained in one or more Google-related cookies
you got (Eg. Google account cookies, google adsense cookies, google
search cookies, etc)
So no, Google isn't spying on you
here. And they're certainly not reading your posts in order to find out
easier ways to brainwash you all Matrix-style. Unless of course you
count "Oh the IP 123.123.123.123 filled in a captcha on 4chan on the
27th of march 2012 at 10:13:27 AM" as spying. (Who am I kidding, /g/ is
more paranoid than Al-Quida when it comes to being tracked by "the evil
gubberment and its lackeys".) |
