    this was the whole point of canonical policies regarding ubuntu : turning it from a desktop OS to a smartphone OS that can be displayed on HDTV.

    i think microsoft and apple are the followers, neither of them have a unified smartphone/tablets/netboook/desktop OS. but they're both workin on it.

    that was canonical goal, start from a debian like linux distro, and redeisgn it to become their own all-purpose OS.
