i dunno if they are worth buying yet but ill explain something to you
i
guess it really started about 8 years ago. i was away at university and
was looking around main street when i saw a mom and pop store that sold
electronics. i saw one of those old IBM mechanicals that my computer
lab had in high school and i had to have it. it was like 10 bucks such a
steal really. anywy fast forward 6 months and i got butthurt over a
video game and broke it. yes i struck my desk with enough force to break
one of those ancient ibm oversized boards. that should tell you
something about nerd rage.
5 years pass and i get a job, get away from computing in general and drop out of college.
2008
and i got a dell prebuilt. it came with a dell keyboard. like pic
related. it was ok. i didnt really compare it to the tacticle greatness
that was my old ibm keyboard but in hindsight it was a pretty good
board. i still have it.
then i got a logitech illuminated
keyboard as an upgrade. its one of the "slim" ones that has laptop style
keys and 3 levels of brightness for the backlight. it was ok.
then
i got frustrated about the fact that my mouse and keyboard didnt match
(i know i know ocd maybe) so i bought a matching wireless microsoft
keyboard/mouse bundle. still not mechanical but at least they matched.
anyway i took the kb apart to clean it and when i put it back together
the z key started sticking when you pressed any of the keys around it.
not cool.
then i saw my current keyboard in a best buy and i knew
right away i had to have it. its a steel series mechanical and its
labelled as a gaming keyboard even tho i dont really do much gaming. it
has 106 (every) key multipress with the ps/2 adapter, mx black switches
and media controls. i love it and im confident that should it not break
it will be the last keyboard i ever use.
tldr: had mechanical, went back, now have mechanical and never going back |
