How does one cope with working at a place that royally rips off all of its customers?

I'm going on 2 years, ready to quit this bitch.

Its not so much of a rip off as much as it is convenience and safety
Not everyone is comfortable shopping online and thats good cuz there is a lot of scamers out there.

We may think it is SOOO EZ since we are technology savvy, the same way a mechanic would think ":fucking peasants, changing oil is so easy and they are paying me to do it lols".
maybe it is, but some people just dont wanna deal with that shit and will pay extra for the service

Also best buy gives large sums of money to anti-gay anti-trans organizations. I used to work for Geek Squad and now it makes me sick thinking about it.

This is how I try to look at it when I'm selling. Yeah, the extended warranties aren't worth it if you know what you're doing, but for some people it's a must. Especially if they're dropping more than a grand.

You think you rip people off?
Son, I work in a pharmacy.
Some of the medications are literally tens-of-thousands of dollars.
They probably cost about 1/50th the price to make them.
I work in the very definition of a workplace that rips people off.

Just don´t rip off your customers? Whenever I sell soemone a TV or soemthing similar I hand them the cheapest version of the cables they´ll need to set it up and they´re happy. Stores don´t male much profit off of big electronics like TVs anyway, it´s all in the litle cheap shit like cables, so don´t rip your customers off with premium crap.

Yes. A little too much for 4chan's post limit so I'll hit the highlights.

They donate money to Minnesota Forward which supports anti-gay policies --we're talking people who actually want homosexuals executed.

I'm never shopping at Best Buy or Target again. Not like they have good products anyway. Fucking Best Buy rarely carries internal HDDs and RAM anymore much less PSUs, video cards, or anything else that's not a laptop.

    >> Anonymous 12/06/11(Tue)16:39 No.21468301
How the fuck do you people even get hired at bestbuy to begin with?
I applied for geeksquad because I had 2.5 years experience working in a private computer business. Got called for 1 interview and after that they told me that "the guy who has information about people that were interviewed is on vacation, I'm not sure when he'll be back". What the fuck kind of business doesn't have at least 1 other person that can tell people if they have been considered for the job?

    FUCK.

Actually Geek Squad was a great service (and cheap) until they were bought by BBY in 2000. If you can still find a rare Geek Squad store location (actual stores, not Best Buys with Geek Squads in them) they're still good. Best Buy turns everything it touches into shit. Look at their dynex, rocketfish, and insignia brands. Cheap pieces of shit that are way below minimum quality and break easily.
